Old Firm build up

I can't see him doing that just because he tried Cantwell on the left before and hooked him early because he wasn't tracking back.

Would be good if we could get both of them in the team though. Lawrence played left wing at Derby i think but we've not seen any of him there have we?

A win would be huge for us in terms of points (obviously) and momentum at this part of the season.

With Celtic getting their key players back they will be in a very positive mood. I think a win at Ibrox would give them the boost they needed to charge on to the title.

If we win sunday then the title is undoubtedly ours to throw away.

Whilst I agree it is absolutely bonkers we are any where near a title race given the poor summer transfer window and Beales ineptitude - but we now are where we are. The league is there for the taking and its up to us.

Its fantastic getting bodies back but would dearly love to have Roofe/Cortez/Danilo fit and firing. Not saying they are world beaters but they are deffo better than Dessers through the middle and Silva playing out of position on the left.

Sunday will be too soon for Sima to start so it will be Silva again. Sterling isnt a right winger in a million years but he is more physical than McCausland which might give him the edge.

Hopefully Yilmaz is fit because Borna half-ersing it until the end of the season gives me the fear.

Rangers can definitely win the game on sunday but I fear a scoring draw which hands a bit of the advantage to celtic. However I would fancy us to go get a draw at Parkhead in a few weeks so it wouldnt be game over for us IMO.

Celtic win and we need snookers.

I didn't know McGregor was a doubt for the game. Big miss for you if he doesn't make it.

Although I feel like he is always a doubt before these games and is miraculously always fine
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eh, I take it you’re unaware he’s missed the last 6 games for club and country? Got crocked in the first half when we scudded Dundee in late Feb, and was in a moonboot after that. Suspect he’ll start, but like Hatate he won’t be near match fit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I was unaware of that. Might surprise you but I don't really keep up to date with Celtic players
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe refrain from posting pash about a guy who’s played more minutes than just about anybody in Europe in the last 6-7 seasons then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you mean pash comments like your last one?!

I think it was last year he was something like 18th most minutes played in europe might have been the year before. pretty sure Tav has similar amount of minutes played, prob even more
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did I say THE most? Nope. Did I say last season? Nope. I do know he played in every competitive fixture for club and country during 2023 though, and had the most minutes in the world a few seasons before that. Basically my point was he plays a hell of a lot of football, in response to the throwaway bollox that he’s always a doubt then miraculously plays. Happy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you need to calm down wee man, plenty time in the week left save the rage.

Likewise as SPR said there has been a few OF games that Callum has been a doubt for but always seems to make the game, it wasnt a pash comment at all.

Cantwell over Lawrence for me every time, its a no brainer for me. Cantwell offers much more off the ball than Lawrence.

curious as to what Clement has in store for Sterling will he play LB, CM, RW?

Lawrence played majority of his career on the wing I’m sure. Cant remember if it was him or Tillman who played on right in CL qualifiers last year but was pretty fluid between the two from memory.

Would prefer that to seeing Scott Wright or Barisic start anyway.

Neither of these two should be anywhere near the team until we are 2 or 3 up in any game for the rest of the season.

I've got the suspicion he'll play LB. We'll see.

If Sima is fit enough to start he may even go with Silva on the left, Dessers and Sima on the right.

That would be a powerful hardworking and fairly pacy attack

Wow, that escalated quickly.

It's not throw away balls. It's in the press a few old firm games a season that he is a doubt, yet always seems to be available.

I don't watch or have any real interest in the majority of Celtics games. So how would I know or indeed care how reliable or how many minutes he plays.

A very simple observation, of our poor Scottish football mainstream media. Seems to have got a few riled up for some reason.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
no chance, when at the games the pressing that Cantwell does is far better than that of Lawrence. Lawrence when he came on against Hibs looked like he didnt give a fook ! Cantwell, presses far more.

the prob that Clement had when he put Cantwell on the right and hooked him at HT was cos Cantwell kept coming inside to look for the ball and not holding his width. Cantwell is Clements preferred no 10, im certain of it.

Yes, was very much my point.

I expect McGregor to play.

Interesting choice of officials, all 3 of those been poor for years.

I'm actually hard pressed to think of a ref that I would say is decent, or even at least consistent in their decision making

who would have known that SPR saying that Mcgregor has been rumoured to be out a few times but makes the game as being an early trigger for some.

Yeah his pressing was notable against Hibs

The second goal came from cantwell pressing one of those ridiculous drop balls the ref kept giving. He then provided a lovely assist for it.

Aye would say so.

Cantwell does work his socks off where as Lawrence likes to just float around a bit. Cantwell absolutely needs to turn up on sunday but the good news is this time round is that if he is having a stinker we will actually have some fit first team players to bring on in his place.
