One more season for Arteta?

He has 1 FA Cup and 2 Community Shields and an Emirates Cup but I see what you mean

Bit early for this. We've won 22/32 this season, the same as Man City and more than Liverpool. We are in the QF of the champions league with a fair shot at going through. It looks like we might come up short in the league but we've given it a great go. I wonder how many points Timber would have been worth, who looked a super player in by far our weakest position

But yeah, I would say if we dont win a trophy this season again we need to progress next year. Arteta needs to look at Pep and how he manages to keep his squad fresh over a season, but lets not forget they also spend an absolute fortune improving their squad every year.

he has built you one of the best arsenal teams of the last 20 years.

You're going up against the best manager in the world with a Sheikh backing him and also a lot of dodgy stuff that's been going on to make them so good.

Even thinking of getting rid of Arteta would be incredibly stupid.

Arsenal are the best football team in the land at the moment that aren’t bankrolled by a small nation.

Immense credit to Arteta for turning your whole club around to likely get 2 seasons in a row with title deserving points tallies. But much like the story of our time under Klopp, it’s just all a bit pointless when City just win it all anyway.

Arteta has built a great team, but is he the man to drag it over the trophy winning line? I’m not sure, has a touch of the Poch’s about him.

When the pressure is on he makes weird tactical choices - why is Zinchenko starting ahead of Kiwior yesterday? Why didn’t Jorginho play.

I think the biggest reason for yesterday was that he was caught in 2 minds about whether to prioritise the league or the CL, i don’t think even the most diehard Arsenal fan genuinely believes they can win both in the same season with this squad. I think he should prioritised the league as you had the advantage in that, whereas you are the underdog going into the second leg against Bayern

Unfortunately I think it’s only a matter of time before you win a title - in the next 2-3 season without a doubt.

I can’t see Liverpool remaining this competitive after Klopp leaves. City will surely suffer a points deduction in the next season or two. Chelsea won’t compete for a long time, which leaves us, Newcastle and Man United as the other potential challengers, all of which are way behind Arsenal and have so much ground to make up,

Even if you don’t win anything next season, if you remain at a similar level to this you’d be stupid to sack him. And I doubt you will.

Imagine losing 1 game, and all of a sudden he isn't good enough. If any of chances went in the 1st half, now everyone would be saying how Arteta is genius

posted on 15/4/24

He's done a good job to get us back to where we should be which is challenging for the league but what he's got to understand we can't be reliant on a core group of players to play every week that's his challenge. We have to be able to go into match where he can say you know what Odegaard or Saka your looking a bit out of condition have a break this week we obviously can't do that simply because he's either kept players at the club that ain't good enough or he doesn't trust them. If he can't understand that then I think it would be time to move him on. I want to see what is done in the summer that will be a big clue to see if he finally gets it.

Agree with this.

Declan Rice's comments regarding "play to not lose" yesterday suggests a change in mentality at the club is required.

Furthermore, if Arsenal had tried to make a game of it against us, they might very well still be top by a point, even with yesterday's result.

Let's see how the last 6 games pan out.

It’ll be more Pep will leave for us in a couple of years time. Depending on who Liverpool get to replace Klopp and us Pep, there’s going to be opportunity there.

We did make a game of it we had the best opportunities in the game. We tried to open up in the same game last year and got pulverised. It's fine margins if Trossard squares to Martinelli we could well of won the game, a point was a good result.

Yes

Not sure how any Arsenal fan can't be over the moon with him

I would've pulled the plug before last season started but so glad the club didn't.

He's done incredibly well over the last year and two thirds. For any manager coming to the Prem and leading Arsenal to the level we're currently at from where we were would deserve plaudits and more time. The fact it's his first job makes it all the more impressive - again, I honestly didn't see it at first but fair play to him and the club for getting themselves back in the mix after what was a slow major decline under Wenger and Emery.

He of course still has a fair bit to learn, not least squad rotation but given we're right in the mix again (against what probably is the best prem side we've seen) and in the quarters of the CL the trajectory still looks overwhelmingly positive.

It really is fine margins against this City team. People have every right to question whether Arteta is the man to overcome those margins but at the same time Arteta deserves a lot of credit for transforming us from a running joke to title challenges. It's a really tough call

If you do get rid of Arteta which would be very foolish qt this moment in time, who would you replace him with ?
Only Pep.would be suitable

posted on 15/4/24

He will definately get another season but he must also improve our record in the cups since he won the FA cup we've not got past fourth round granted one of those years we played City but for the most successful club in the competition's history that's not really acceptable.

Looking at the age of the Arsenal team, it could be one that wins on a regular basis. Arteta has built it and for me deserves to run it.

Some of these comments are unreal. We've lost 1 game in 2024. It's more to do with the fact Pep and Man City are fecking ridiculous than it is to do with Artetas shortcomings (which he does have).

posted on 15/4/24

The narrative that he has improved us and turned us into a title challenger? How can you even argue against that? The truth is, we were going backwards before Arteta came in. He turned us around, got the divisive fan base to pull together and as a club, all pull in the same direction.

With 6 games to go, we are in second and 2 points off top. It's just the ridiculousness of Man City that so many are saying well it's over now, we've bottled it again, even though we have picked up 31/36 points this year with City picking up 33/39.

In most cases I agree but not in the context of us spending a fortune on our squad.

You have indeed spent hundreds of millions more than anyone not called Manchester United or Chelsea.
