Millen

He told us after his first holiday he wanted 'everybody in by the start of pre-season training' - 1st July. In June he said he wanted the 'new faces' to be in ready for the Portugal trip.
Well, we face Ipswich 2 weeks Saturday and still no sign of a defender in sight. And all we hear after the 3 fantastic friendlies is we must learn to defend better and his pathetic threat that 'some have played their way out of the team'.
Is he honestly saying he's only just realised that the likes of Nyatanga will never make a Championship defender, Carey and Macca are getting to long in the tooth, Rib's body isn't up to football etc etc
And perhaps Millen's forgotten that Caulker and Spence have left the club.
We have a half decent midfield, Cisse does a great job in front the back 4 and we still have Maynard up top.
Unless Millen addresses our useless defence all this talk from fans of a top 6 finish is daft beyond words.

ps, Have posted this on not606, not sure if this site is 'taking off' as hoped, maybe better used when the season starts.
pps,Miss 1For and R/S rollicking me.

I just think its surprising that Milly has had so much trouble recruiting DEFENDERS, considering its the position he used to occupy.

Oh, and its probably Wiggley who found Caulker, Spence and Rose - from the U21s.

Pirate - you are a gashead
Why should we listen to you ?

R&W
Thing is now he is a manager, not a player, so what he did before isnt so relevant.
On your other comment, we dont know that.
Have you any evidence ?
If all you want to do is shoot down the manager then methinks you are missing the point of supporting a football club

BRR - Playing is soooo relevant.
Whatever position you play you really appreciate and understand what makes a good defender, midfielder or striker.
The opposite is true also, Stan Harland told me I was the worst player he'd ever played against!

BRR - Even Millen has admitted it was Twentyman who recommended Caulker to City. Twentyman confirmed it on a radio phone-in back end of last season.

'methinks you are missing the point of supporting a football club' - Listen to yourself !

BRR - I have not blasted Milly - I always try to give the incumbant the benefit of the doubt - you seem to forget all my posts supporting GJ on the old 606 plus my comment earlier about not Milly-bashing. I acknowledge he is probably doing his best.

I am merely voicing frustration that the club I love has still got the defencive frailties it had 2 seasons ago. Whose fault that is is for debate, but it is there - fact. Milly says it himself.

My comment about Wiggley wasn't supposed to be a put-down either.

I am one of the more positive posters on here normally, but I am VERY nervous at present.

Whilst not wishing to get drawn into mudslinging, I reiterate what I said.
If all you want to do is shoot down the manager then methinks you are missing the point of supporting a football club.
You may well be right about Twentyman - of this I was actually unaware. However, I do think that people are far too quick to jump on the 'crucify the manager' bandwagon. Millen has bought stability into our camp and all the benefits which come with that.
Rest assured RP, and all other criers of dissent, if Millen hasn't nailed it by next year (ie top half and pushing) I will have no hesitation in withdrawing support for the manager (depending on the season's circumstances eg injuries etc), because as already stated my number 1&2 interests are in the football club.
God, youv'e got to be a lawyer to blog on this site

Yes Twentyp might well have suggested Caulker but he didn't get them to sign for us on loan did he? that was done by KM and people from the club after talks with HR at Spurs as they would have to be happy their players would a) get games b) get ongoing quality training.

Rose and Caulker on loan as in 'them' in the reply above.
