These are the sort of things that Fergie does that have earned him massive respect (sometimes mistaken for fear or bias in some quarters) from several managers. Obviously being the most successful British manager ever helps.
The thing is this sort of things dont get a big mention by the press. I suspect we'll hear more of this when the great man retires.

Away from the pitch, I've never read or heard of a bad word said about him. Those that see him as this abhorrent bloke are usually bitter, deluded and take the sport a bit too seriously.
By all accounts, he's one of the most genuine, welcoming and supportive people in the game. If people don't like the ruthless way in which he does his job then that's their prerogative, but, like most guys in sport, it isn't the same guy that goes back home after the match.
