What's going on?

At the start of the season we beat Newport 5-1.
That was a home game, on a decent pitch on a pleasant late summers evening.

Team consisted of Green, Ayling, Shaughnessy, Anita, Borthwick-Jackson, Klich, Vieira, Roofe, Gomes, Dallas and Stokes
.
That team was nowhere near our strongest line-up but it was a comfortable win.
Green has gone since then and Dallas, Ayling and Vieira have all been injured.
But I am loss as to what has happened since then to turn a team that cruised to such an easy victory into a team that were so easily beaten.
The score is not an honest reflection of what happened, we were easily second best and threatened rarely. Should have lost heavily.
You cannot blame the pitch, we seem to have gone backwards as I cannot believe Newport have improved that much.

We shouoldn't have lost heavily. They controlled the game and seized the initiative, but for most of the game we defended well, we jsut then struggled to work it up the field, and too often resorted to aimless long balls to Grot and Lasogga.

not sure what game you were watching, if they had players who could finish we would have lost by a lot more and in order to pass a ball to a player it helps if he makes himself available or tries , Grot did but lacks any quality and lasogga just couldnt be bothered

Today's line up was a lot worse than that one. Then we played a good striker with movement who grabbed a hatrick whilst today we play two lumbering donkeys. Plus had a stronger bench, Alioski and Saiz came on earlier.

I wrote eRlier this week that with his record against them Roofe should have played and Saiz should not have been risked in any way in this game. Of course I couldn’t have predicted Saiz would have gotten sent off for anything let alone a disgusting act!
