Who would of thought that a 0-3 drubbing to a poor Man Utd side in a death spiral would turn out to be possibly the greatest result in a fixture involving Spurs for many years. Yes, losing El Sackico has turned out to be the greatest loss possibly in Premier League history. Thank you Nuno. You will always be a Spurs legend for losing that match in such humiliating fashion.
In Conte we trust.
The greatest match ever to lose?

It’s not that it needs a bit of work, it needs a lot of work to fit his rigid set up. It’s a squad built around wide players and attacking mids, that doesn’t coexist with a Conte team. We’ve also got a lot of younger players that need opportunities and guidance, which isn’t what Conte is about.
He’s a bigger man child than Mourinho when he doesn’t get his own way, and we wouldn’t give him what he wants because we don’t want to operate that way.
Whether I or anyone else agrees with the wisdom of this is irrelevant, it’s what it is and why Conte didn’t get the job. He’s too abrasive, and not good enough to be as demanding as he is, which is why he’s struggled to get a job at the biggest clubs since leaving Chelsea.
For once I actually agree with the club’s decision to not appoint Conte. It’s one of the better ones they’ve made in recent years.
Hopefully they’ll follow it up with appointing Ten Hag instead of Pochettino.

As a supporter, if our board turned round and said they didn't want a manager with Conte's record because they thought he would rock the corporate boat, and be open about it, it would probably be enough to put a hole in the wall. Each to their own.

Is that what you’ve taken from that? It’s not just because he’s an unreasonably demanding manchild - though that’s a big reason why big clubs don’t want him - there’s a myriad of different things that he doesn’t fit with.
I’ve not even mentioned the style of football, because I’m not convinced it’s that important for our owners - though it’s another thing that puts off a lot of the bigger sides. That’s ultimately my biggest relief.

It just goes to show there is more wrong at OT than the limited abilities of their ex-PE teacher manager.
They have built a squad that is totally imbalanced, with purchase decisions made by good knows who.
They pursued Sancho for ages, spent a fortune on him then dont play him. Buy DVB in a position where Bruno and Pogba prefer to play and DVB gets no game. Let Pogba's contract run down with blind faith that he'll come good. Rely on McFred in CM. Spent £80m on slab head. 2 pensioners up front with the expensive Martial rotting on the sidelines.
The word was that Conte wanted control over signings and with this mess, it's no wonder any manager would want this hand dealt to him. It's not designed to succeed.
Conte will not get carte blanche at Spurs, but he will work with his compatriot Paratici (DOF) to get the sort of deals he wants.

His appointment is a no-brainer. Both of our clubs are flapping and he appears to be a perfect character to get something out of an uninspired squad of players.
Bruce will get your lot fired up anyway.

I'd hope that we didn't go after Conte because he doesn't suit our squad.
I find at difficult to imagine that they didn't sign Conte because they were worries he would rock the boat, having previously employed Jose and LVG.

Conte’s worse than LVG and Mourinho. You very rarely see a manager call out his employers in public, Conte’s done this a number of times.

Conte better spend a lot of energy in making sure that Kane wants to stay with this very average team regardless of the fact that trophies are not probable in the next 3-5 years.

People close to your board have said he was too confrontational. There was a report in The Athletic and it's been generally accepted. Like Devon's said, it's no wonder they wouldn't accept Conte's terms.
