Whats our shape?

With the signing of Neil Kilkenny I can't quite see what shape the team will be that milly is building.

The description of Kilkenny as a player has an uncanny similarity to the way I would describe LJ, and we always struggled to get him in to a midfield 5, and he certainly didn't work in a 4.

Maybe we are going 4-3-3 with Kilkenny, Cisse and Elliot behind a plethora of choices up front.

Albert, Steady, Bolasie, Maynard, Pitman, Taylor, Clarkson

Its certain we have good options in the squad now for most eventualities but I can't see the 'at home' dead cert 11?

What would your first choice from our current options be?

McCallister? Henderson should be second choice keeper.

Also surely Pitman`s got to be in the starting 11

Ha, too many choices.

True - on reflection, substitute Nyatanga for McCallister, because he can cover our left back AND central defence. I think Pitman (who I love as a player) and Stead are all in a mosh pit with Maynard and all three should be regarded as first team, which is how it should be for a promo push.
I'd have Gerkin in front of the unfortunate Hendo because he is a proven Championship quality keeper. Worth remembering though that this could be Jamo's final season as a player, so to have Gerks and Hendo waiting in the wings would be excellent.
However, if Henderson decides to go elsewhere and sacrifice the chance of being a Premiership keeper at City that will be his folly, and his fate.

Granted Gerkin has proven himself in championship but I would still prefer Henderson he`s the future unfortunate on Gerkin but we don`t want the same mistake we made with Chris Weale. It would be City`s folly to let him go.

So far our signings have been great..

Our shape is in the lap of the gods but KEEF is doing alright...

Lets all hope it continues,we need defenders and I know Mr Millen has got it all under control, the clock is ticking...

Exciting times !

Its our defence that is our only real weak spot. I remain to be convinced that Killa will bring us anything better than LJ - other than some bad attitude and a couple of red cards - god help him.
Still, I'll support whoever wears the shirt, and wish him the very best.

No, we have been undone time and again by defensive errors and hesitations, and that was even with Caulker in the side. This needs fixing before the season starts IMHO.

I feel that even with the same personnel our defence will improve this year, They wont have that feeling of unfamiliarity about them and getting used to each other. James has admitted that he found it very difficult to adjust to his new surroundings.
I'm not saying we don't need to improve because we do, but Wilson was very impressive in the last 2 games as was edwards. Also saw signs that Stewart was improving, that might turn around yet.
