Whats our shape?

If Marv and Cisse start the season looking as strong as they did back in Feb/March I can't see Killkenny even getting in the team immediately. If he does play I would stay 4-4-2, but Marv/Cisse even Skuse along-side him are better than Bradley Johnson (Leeds CM) at shielding the defence, so hopefully Killa would work better with these lot. Your right tho, we have every option covered atleast as far as central midfielders go. If Carey isnt about, Marv is captain so he would start every game regardless. Albert is a cert, left side is open. Nicky and Pitman/Stead up top. Have to see what Taylor brings to the table. Our squad is too big and we need to lose a few.... LJ, Clarkson maybe and Hunt.

Im looking forward to the West Brom friendly, would like to see all the new boys in action at some point.

No point signing Kilkenny if not starting him straight away. Must be focal part of team if he`s that good. If you want Cisse and Marv to play, has to be 4-3-3

I like this shiny having said that, il leave it to milly and wigs. Wilson looked really impressive at the end of the season, makes me wonder if millen will bring in a proper first choice CB or bring in a back-up to Lewin/Wilson/Fonts/Carey.

We do need extra class and experience in the back line - dont forget this is a promotion push.

Sorry - I dribbled !

McCallister? Henderson should be second choice keeper.

Also surely Pitman`s got to be in the starting 11

Ha, too many choices.

True - on reflection, substitute Nyatanga for McCallister, because he can cover our left back AND central defence. I think Pitman (who I love as a player) and Stead are all in a mosh pit with Maynard and all three should be regarded as first team, which is how it should be for a promo push.
I'd have Gerkin in front of the unfortunate Hendo because he is a proven Championship quality keeper. Worth remembering though that this could be Jamo's final season as a player, so to have Gerks and Hendo waiting in the wings would be excellent.
However, if Henderson decides to go elsewhere and sacrifice the chance of being a Premiership keeper at City that will be his folly, and his fate.

Granted Gerkin has proven himself in championship but I would still prefer Henderson he`s the future unfortunate on Gerkin but we don`t want the same mistake we made with Chris Weale. It would be City`s folly to let him go.

So far our signings have been great..

Our shape is in the lap of the gods but KEEF is doing alright...

Lets all hope it continues,we need defenders and I know Mr Millen has got it all under control, the clock is ticking...

Exciting times !

Its our defence that is our only real weak spot. I remain to be convinced that Killa will bring us anything better than LJ - other than some bad attitude and a couple of red cards - god help him.
Still, I'll support whoever wears the shirt, and wish him the very best.

No, we have been undone time and again by defensive errors and hesitations, and that was even with Caulker in the side. This needs fixing before the season starts IMHO.

I feel that even with the same personnel our defence will improve this year, They wont have that feeling of unfamiliarity about them and getting used to each other. James has admitted that he found it very difficult to adjust to his new surroundings.
I'm not saying we don't need to improve because we do, but Wilson was very impressive in the last 2 games as was edwards. Also saw signs that Stewart was improving, that might turn around yet.
