Words from the one and only Mr Bates

After refering to the woes of Rangers, Port Vale and the current HMR&C challenge to the football creditors rule..................
Meanwhile there are still some self-appointed football financial experts, totally ignorant of the facts, who shout that ticket prices should be reduced and players spending increased. Economics of the madhouse!

Then talking about the Icelandic invasion of West Ham.....................
Those people who shout their mouths off about the mythical overseas fairy godfathers should step back and take a deep breath. Rich people have mostly made their money through wise business decisions and shrewd investments. Why the hell would they want to invest in an English football club? So to the deluded fans who dream of white knights out there - dream on!

My view is still our ticket prices could be reduced, although not by what some people hope for. I would say a 10-15% reduction in prices would be realistic. Also tickets for children under 10 should be halved and those 10-16 cut by 25% (as long as accompanied) to ensure future support. I'm not looking for massive investment in the squad, as NW has proved our squad can challenge at this level.

As for a foreign owner. I would be very dubious of this happen to us. Past experience indicates a good % of these have not been good for the clubs they have taken ownership of.

Where does Bates live to avoid paying any tax in UK?

So what is the difference between Bates and a foreign owner exactly?

The difference being Bates is British and not foreign

Simple really

South, we've been in hands of offshore funds for years.

Offshore = foreign.
