As for a foreign owner. I would be very dubious of this happen to us.

Where does Bates live to avoid paying any tax in UK?

So what is the difference between Bates and a foreign owner exactly?

Jonty, does that mean he's not British? Why do some Billionaires live in the UK? I know people who live abroad and it's nothing to do with tax, but also life style.

What he's referring to is more to do with those who come over who promise they sky and then in caves in on them..........ie Portsmouth twice, Birmingham, Liverpools previous Yanks, West Hams Icelandic crew etc etc. He's actually praised some in past programmes, ie Lerner at Villa but even their they lost how much this year.

Blinkered, have you put your figures into a proposal so that you know how many fans would be needed to reach the same level of income? Would you be willing to bet on figures? I do agree something should be looked at prices, but not necessary a blindfaith that fans will turn up. I advocate more of a Hartlepool approach, ie if the fans buy X amount of ST's then they will be X price. The more sold the lower the price. This way it's win - win.

Meanwhile there are still some self-appointed football financial experts, totally ignorant of the facts, who shout that ticket prices should be reduced and players spending increased. Economics of the madhouse!

Wonder which financial whizz kid told him to spend 7 mill on corporate boxes on a ground he doesn't own ?

Stop being pedantic Jonty.

Cas I agree with what you say. The major problem for me is the wages footballers get, it's been an issue that needs addressing for too long now. If that came more in line with the real world then I'm sure us fans would benefit.

First and foremost with regards to ticket prices, Leeds need to introduce better concessions for kids.

Pedantic about what exactly Frank?

We have an owner who pays no tax and is in the country less than 1 day in 4.

What is the difference between Bates and a foreign owner who can come to country more often and actually support the business they have made an investment in?

Its just typical Bates rubbish about how no one wants to invest in Leeds in an effort to convince fans that he is the best/only option.

Good arguement but the only thing is "I beleive". With a reduction of 30% on ST prices you would also need a 1 year amnesty so all buy at the ealy bird price and then aim for 18-20k in ST sales. If this could be met it's win - win.

not sure you can argue with his logic, I suspect if he wasn't such a loathsome little toad more would agree with him. To borrow a phrase, none of us want to go back to the boom and bust of Risdale

Surely destroying the fan base with this ticket price structure is a bust and bust policy ?

I think whether it really is bust will be revealed at the end of the season and beggining of the next.

Typical Bates´ spin. Says only the things that suit his argument.

If he wants to have ridiculously high ticket prices, then the investment in the team needs to increase to justify it. Just like if he wants to invest little in the team, prices need to be reduced to justify it.

I don´t mind paying high prices for top football, and I don´t mind paying low prices for low football. But with Bates´ way, we´re getting poor football with high prices.

....
2006/2007 had Over 7m on the team at 25 a ticket

No one turn up. Tickets then was cheaper then now.

Back up what u say.

South, we've been in hands of offshore funds for years.

Offshore = foreign.
