In which case I would probably mix it up a little bit. 3.5 hours means you'd need about 40-50 songs. Now if I'm doing the playlist specifically for you then I'm not sure I know your tastes well enough to do 50 songs and if I did it for me I'm not sure you'd like it.
So instead I'm going to do a train/travelling themed playlist. But not 50 songs because technically I'm at work and don't really have time.
Okay if JJG can't be arseked... here's my hastily thrown together, "10 songs to start a long (slightly melancolic) train journey at night time" mix:
Dream Brother - Jeff Buckley
Play For Today - The Cure
Elm Grove Window - The Clientele
Suzanne - Leonard Cohen
By The Time I get To Phoenix - Glen Campbell
And No More Shall We Part - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Road - Nick Drake
Cortez The Killer - Neil Young
No More Sorry - My Bloody Valentine
Ella Megalast Burls Forever - Cocteau Twins
It's a start...
Sorry JJG... I guess I was away longer than I realised.
