"It bothers me when people say to me that Matt Bellamy is the best guitarist in the world!!!"
You should possibly spend less time talking to teenage girls then.

"I just don't care if someone is technically good all I care about is whether they can write decent songs."

Which Hendrix could do... when he wasn't whacking off for twenty odd minutes on his whammy-bar that is.
On the Hendrix debate, he was an amazingly gifted guitarist and he could combine it with writing very good songs which is, for me, where the real talent comes in. Plus he died young.
Dead people > live people. Fact.

Not heard of Joe Bonamassa before. I'll have to have a listen now.

Ah I see. You work in a HIV testing centre.

I hated listening to his Woodstock set. It felt like 8 hours of nothing but feedback.

Incidentally I have no musical talent (I used to play bass) and I can't sing. Does anyone want to form a band with me? We'll play traditional folk songs in a black metal style and black metal songs in a folk style.
We shall call ourselves Poophole and The Wrong 'Uns and we'll be an internet sensation.
Hendrix's recording output only spanned something like 4 or 5 years I think, which is incredible when you think about it.
Bands were so much more prolific back in the 60s
"Bands were so much more prolific back in the 60s"
Yeah but the quality was awful. Name a good band form the 60's...

You'd better put me on drums.

Cream and The Velvet Underground. There are plenty of others but those two in particular are timeless.

"WUM?"
Moi?
Anyway, here's my MP3 roulette list:
1. Old Spur Line - Th' Legendary Shack Shakers
2. Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show - Neil Diamond
3. Paranoid - Ozzy Osbourne
4. Strangers - The Kinks
5. Mambo Italiano - Etype Jazz
6. Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day
7. Waiting For The Beat To Kick In - Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip
8. If I Told You - Husker Du
9. Dark Was The Night - Blind Willie Johnson
10. Don't Believe A Word - Think Lizzy
Think Lizzy? That's not a real band at all. Still when Poophole and the Wrong 'Uns split up due to musical differences I could always go into the tribute act business. I look a lot like Phil Lynott.
