RVP has scored one single solitary penalty this season

---------------------

that's just not true though.

1 pen vs QPR
1 pen vs West Brom
1 pen vs Bilbao
2 pens vs Chelsea (he also missed one vs them)
Scored the rebound of a missed pen vs City
2 pens vs Otelul Galati
1 pen vs Arsenal

Has RVP really only scored one penalty?

Man up, Robin

Rooney is only rated so highly because he's english, he's a quality player but he's not world-class. Where as RVP is about as close as you can get to Ronaldo/Messi at the moment. The OP lost all credibility when he started basing his argument on stats

8bit, you are correct, Leon Britton has that record. Does that mean he's better than Messi?

RVP missed a pen vs United and scored 3 vs Villa (2 in the FA Cup) and scored 1 vs Milan. That's it.

Mufc it is true, do some research before you start spouting your rubbbish.

Why are you not replying to my question about assists?

So even though you quoted me saying in the league you included his ones that weren't? Genius.

Wow, just realised we have only been given 2 pens in the PL all season. What a joke. United have been given over 10 I think.

assists can be explained by van persie taking corners and free kicks.

Any non Man U fan says RVP.

He plays for the worse team and has more goals and more assists.

His goals have undoubtedly been more impressive (watch them all, there is no debate).

Pointless stats can't change that guys!

Rooney takes free-kicks, i've also seen him take the corners

'assists can be explained by van persie taking corners and free kicks.'

Only if thats how he got them... which it wasn't.

RVP is better than Rooney when fit... and its not really close.

posted on 9/4/12

Yes they can that is why they are called assists.
Do you not think it is better to have a high assist rate than a high passing rate?

I cant believe I waited all that time for such a rubbish reply from you.

Great, another pointless player comparison. Neither club would swap, both suit their teams, they would work brilliantly together.

It annoys me how Utd fans can never admit when they're wrong, just face it RVP is better than Rooney.

Additionally, Rooney gets a lot of help from the referees with those penalties which further inflates his tally.

I'm talking about those penalties against Chelsea and QPR and those are the only ones that spring to mind.

............

It's all about opinions.

I mean, a few of you were telling us yesterday that you have a better team than us.

who really gives a toss if he is? Rooney will finish his career with a sackful of medals and RVP will spend his retirement wondering what could have been.
