Coyle has overrated the Championship and underrated the Premiership with a lot of his signings.

That's why we find ourselves at the bottom.

He is the new Phil brown I tell you that now.

The new Phil brown?

I thought that was Sammy Lee.

A former Bolton Assistant manager who had an unsuccessful managerial career..

Makes more sense that what you said.

Vortep. I don't want to get into a personal argument but we all know there are certain posters that seem to delight in us loseing games. That may seem very hard but there are certain posters who only create and post when we lose.

In fact, I wonder if some of them are fans Bolton Wanderers or of other clubs. I am not labeling you as one of these people but it seems stange that some of these posters dont' seem to have a good word for the manager or the team when we win.

With only 9 wins out of 32 maybe asking for some to be skipping or even happy maybe too much. Pleased yes but not happy

posted on 10/4/12

It's not a matter of the 9 wins as that's higher than the rest of the strugglers it's the 2 draws and 21 defeats that's done us. Mainly not turning some of those defeats in to the draws we were getting at the beginning of last season.

posted on 10/4/12

Maybe your right 21 defeats has simply depressed people to the point that the odd win isn't enough to raise a smile

TRR summed it up very well in his OP. It's a relegation battle, and has been for months. Still think we will survive and then next season is where OC earns his stripes.
...........

was it not after the Jan transfer window when he was supposed to 'earn his stripes'?

that changed to 'after the terrible 2nd run of fixtures' too 'next season' ...if coyle is still our manager come next season and we start as badly as we did this season will people finally accept that he is not up to the job or start going on about the next Jan transfer window?

something has got to give at some point...

With OC we will be in a relegation fight until we are relegated. And that my fellow trotters is my opinion regardless of resources, love and Robbie Blake..

That's the side of the fence I roll..... But it doesn't make me any less of a fan than anyone..

the absolute BEST comment ive seen on here for ages... 5* comment

The win rate is better than the other teams,

But just thinking about close games were silly mistakes have led to late goals..

Newcastle twice
Sunderland
Norwich
Etc

That's 4 games that could have been draws had it not been for individual errors by Knight, Robinson and Eagles that gave these team there initial goal.

With those 4 draws we have a better distance.

But since December 19th our record is 6 win, 2 draws, 7 defeats, so we've been doing better, just need to keep that ok form going into end of season.

Trig I decided last night after a few debates that the word revised target appears far to often by coyles supporters. They have back tracked on so many things this season starting with the tough run in. The only thing they have left is the Holden injury. Many are telling us that we will stay up and however much I want that I just can't bring myself to putting such a bold statement out into the public domain. Not after watching us this season. If god forbid we do go down the message will coyle will sort it. Not having obviously caused it. Followed by reminding us there are some quality teams in championship etc etc. if we do stay up many players will leave and in will come a hatful of unready players like Alonso and sordell or useless ones like pratley or eagles. By then Holden will be back and lee will have replaced miyachi. I hope to god holden stays fit as he has been used to excuse coyle from top to bottom at the club. Coyle is that bad that he can't get anything out of the other 10 players besides Holden. Lee is a different prospect as he played last season when the rot of rubbish began so although a good player would he alone have made us midtable? No

right, I know this is directed at me amongst some other regular posters on here, but I assure you I am 101% Bolton... perhaps overly passionate if im honest.

if your ever in any doubt of my credentials I can offer a link to my facebook profile - a regular poster on here is on my facebook (The Hate Camel) and im pretty sure Rowbot is as well...

further to that I can also upload pictures of my season tickets for the last several years, I've kept my away tickets from Madrid, Marseilles, Munich, Belgrade, Lisbon and gumaraes (or however you spell it) along with my ticket from the Carling cup final, Last years FA cup Semi and I still have my ticket from the last match at burnden, first game at the Reebok and the Play off against reading...

I whine like hell, but please dont question my passion or support for BWFC...

Petrov, yet again, you have not listened to a single word that has been said. I (and others) have stated that next year, Coyle needs to perform, yet instead you have come up your own version of events in order to justify your attack on me and others.

Trigger, if your irked that someone has questioned your passion, then why on a previous thread have you questioned Coyles passion for our club?

Moses maybe you just don't listen to yourself

.........

completely different...

I spend obscene amounts of money on BWFC, coyle is just a man with a job to do, a man who is regardless of injury's, financial constraints and other matters not doing a very good job.

other managers can make teams play better on a low budget, coyle cant im afraid. even with money im sure he would look to recent academy graduates from championship clubs...I dont agree at all that his policy of spending nigh on pig-all on young players with 'potential' is going to help the club going forward, the position we find ourselves in requires a squad of players for NOW...not in 3 or 4 years when we may find ourselves sat in league one wondering what the hell happened even worse of than we are now... with coyle still blaming injuries, the grass, the sky and the moon for our terrible run of form. the reality is, forced or not, its obvious the policy is not working. we are treading on VERY thin ice with the clubs future, gambling on us just being good enough to stay up while selling any player that looks good to other premier league clubs (if Holden and lee would not have been so badly injured we would be discussing how much we can sell them for in the close season now)

apart from the above, his tactics and selection (as have been discussed on here hundreds of times) leaves me, along with 90% of the other Bolton fans puzzled to say the least.

anyway, ive gone off on a tangent again as usual however, do you think if coyles great plan fails and we are even deeper in the swiz that he would care half as much as you or me? I really dont think so. he would go back home to his mansion and his Range rover sport or whatever stupidly expensive car he drives and await an offer from another club - an offer that WILL come as again the BWFC fans and the club will look like horrible bully's who hounded him out of his job.

I understand its the same with most players to, but that's not my point. It wouldn't bother me as much if he LOOKED bothered in interviews and on match day in the dugout - but i just dont see it. talk is cheap.

Trigger, if you think Coyle isn't passionate about our club, and his job, his reputation, I personally think you are talking rubbish.

Yesterday, on that thread people showed you interviews where Coyle has stated his passion for our club, yet you decided not to take heed of them.

this is nothing more than paying lip-service to journos moses, sorry.

also, the links provided are from newspapers, your always telling not to read to much in to what is printed in the papers as it can be made up, just blatant lies or words put in to peoples mouths.

or does you telling me not to take to much heed of what I read in the papers only relevant when it does not back up your argument that coyle is god?

Rebel - i am glad you quoted me a few comments above, but it is a bit out of context to be honest.

I strongly stated that I thought we would stay up after 16 games when we had 9 points.

I was given a hard time along with Moses and HH, but have outlined my reasons many times.

Since then we have got 20 points from the next 16 games. That is pretty good return for a club of our size.

I therefore believe there has been an improvement and this improvement will continue into next season as players return and we have another summer transfer window.

Of course, I am aware that we are far from safe and the next 6 games will be critical. BUT, there has been an improvement since December.
