I love the guy to be honest, but something tells me he will become the Man Utd manager when SAF retires, highly unlucky i know but i feels it

Martinez works wonders with the budget he has and the fact he loses his key players every summer

What we need is Harry Redknapp until February and then David Moyes till the end of the season.

no thanks. Battled relegation with Wigan so far every season he has been there. I'm sorry but a couple of excellent results against United and Arsenal shouldn't make people go all knee jerk and feel Martinez will be the next spurs manager. If in a few years he get's Wigan into the top 7 with the resources he has then i will look at him in a different light and realise he's a great manager. Can't believe the rubbish people are coming out with to replace Harry......Rogers,Martinez etc....Come on boys, we are spurs....not Bolton.

Don - You have to look at what Martinez is working with and the philosophy he has, he isn't doing a Stoke and cheating his way to survival

Just look at how much the problems surrounding Modric affected our start of the season..Then think about Wigan losing all their key payers pretty much every season, Martinez holds them together

Here we go again Martinez won 4 of his first 29 games this season with Wigan, a late flourish and now he is being touted as the next best thing since sliced bread.

I quite like him, but like Brendan Rogers is at a club where he is under absolutely no pressure to succeed. Do you think he would not have been sacked at any other club with just 4 wins out of 29.

These days a manager strings together a few resuults, and all of a sudden he is the next Fergie in the making.

Get a grip fellas.

Well considering some of the names being mentioned, Martinez would be my preferred option out of all of them

@ sir nuetral, exactly.....it's the knee jerk reactions from people at times that annoys me. A few excellent results against top teams and suddenly he's the next best thing. Martinez has not proved himself to be taking on the role as tottenham hotspur manager, no bloody way!!

RRP, I understand what you are saying mate and i am not calling Martinez useless but the fact remains he has still battled relegation every season he has been in charge with Wigan, hardly great reading is it?

Chronic, yes he dosen't have much to work with but neither does Paul lambert at Norwich, he looks like he will be taking NORWICH to midtable, he has already eclipsed martinez in that sense. But do i want Paul lambert at spurs???? no thanks

Don - Of course, but whats to say given a better squad and some funds Martinez cant do a job for us. After all, Redknapp came in with a poor record, only managing teams who have either got relegated or fighting for their lives

Exactly my point RRP,Knowing Martinez he would sell Modric for 50 million,Go out and buy some one from Ethopia who turns out to be the next Zidane,As for the comment about us being Spurs not Bolton so we deserve a big manager is carp,Other than Harry getting us one season in The Champions league name we 1 other manager we have had in the last 6 years who was any good,Harry was not exactly a Huge name and is only being bounded as the next England manager due to the fact we were playing like Barcelona.

Can we all stop calling for Martinez or sodding rodgers, the position we are in we should be looking at managers from such lower league club, doesn't wattdp what resources they may or may not have, they may not have much money with us if levy holds his wallet too tight. So we need to pay that bit extra to get the best manager possible, so we can carry on building and getting better.

we should get mourinho. of course that chances of that are 0. but still, we should get him

*shouldn't be looking!

Pretty sure Martinez's managerial record is not that different to Redknapp's before he came to us as well...I dont know, not really excited by any of the names mentioned, but as long as someone can come in and not make the same mistakes as Harry im all for that

posted on 18/4/12

Should at least try chronic that's the point, or for Pep.

posted on 18/4/12

Chronic I would love Jose mate,But that is not going to happen,Knowing our luck will finish 5th and AVB will end up next England manager.

Yeah but when harry took over look where we were RRP, now we're fighting for CL and were pushing for the title.

posted on 18/4/12

VDB - But thats what Harry is good at to a point, he can put confidence into players, we had a GOOD team when we were bottom of the league but had a manager in Ramos who couldn't speak English! Harry doesn't seem able to handle the younger players (20 somethings) and thats why he isolates people, i want a new manager coming in, a new angle and a new start with a new squad

posted on 18/4/12

RRP, Is it a risk worth taking though mate? Say we get into the top 4, do you really want us to risk it with a manager who has no experience at the top level in terms of europe like martinez. I would much rather Levy dip into his pockets and spend a big amount of money on a top manager, if we make the top 4

posted on 18/4/12

Vanderbale,We were at one stage looking unbelievable in the league and i Honestly thought we would win the league,4 months down the line Its obvious something is wrong in the dressing room,And Redknapp has to stand up and take the blame.

posted on 18/4/12

Don - Well we are going to need to take risks because at the moment we have decided to stick rather than twist !

I doubt we can bring in a big name manager, especially with the possibilities of Man City looking for someone and of course Chelsea, we are not on their level in terms of what we can offer managers

We just need to be realistic here and as much as we love Spurs, we are not as desirable as other clubs

Brendan Rodgers

He's got the winning mentality off of Mourinho, and he'd be sure to play Caulker. Which is good
