Who is going down?

Sorry for playing devils advocate here, but if you were commenting on the article in general, why did you pick out a quote from a recent comment, rather than the OP?

I thought that if someone put a quote in their post and then a comment after it, that comment would be a direct answer to the quote - otherwise there is not point quoting, no?

I'm not actually having a go at Moses directly, but there are an incredible amount of people on here who are precious to people aiming comments at them... It usually surrounds the people behind Coyle lecturing about Internet manners...

I just hope those words of advice are repeated when the shoe is on the other foot...

JAH has pointed out he can in essence be allowed to say as he wishes, to make his point....

I hope that's remembered...

I've never claimed to be anything different to what I am... Wonder if Moses is critical of you in the way he is with me.?
.........

no Moses has his favourites already im afraid...

I have no favourites on here, posters whose opinions I respect, but even then I'm prone to debating with them on certain aspects.

I don't even know why I'm being dragged into this article TBH, JAH called someone elses opinion ''pathetic'' if that person takes offence with it then fine, but it seems like other posters have ....

You're not paying devils advocate...

I'm making the point that the author is clearly in a very negative frame of mind and the talk of being a realist / negative was raised in an example by the person attacking him...

I therefore used the same example given by JAH to illustrate the reason the author is feeling negative.. By outlining actual facts on results and stats rather than the 'Keep The Faith' and 'In Coyle We Trust' comments normally dished out...

There are people on both sides on the debate who have been ''precious'' over cetain comments.

It would be a lot easier if we can keep all comments civil, and debate about football, not manners ....

Bloody hell Moses, you're like the wife...

If I mention her, she rings!!!!!

My bottom five;

Wigan
Bolton
QPR
Blackburn
Wolves

Yours?

That's my thoughts..

I just worry that a home record of won 4, Drawn 2 and Lost 10, should have us a little mindful that these 3 games at the Bok will be bloody hard..

As Villa, Stoke & Sunderland away will be...

You mad?
YOU MAD?!
Feels good doesn't it, like you're still alive?
Well, since you're still alive and you're not in the box just yet,....why don't you tell me this theory of yours and we'll go get these guys! (Just a little quote to lighten the mood.)

COYWM!
Positivity breeds positivity - 3 wins and we are pretty much safe.

I'll keep my comment simple.

Wigan
Bolton
QPR
Blackburn
Wolves.

Or, possibly.
Bolton
Wigan
QPR
Blackburn
Wolves.

Either will do.

If and that's a big IF we do pull Villa down into the R zone over the next few weeks I will remind you of that MT.

I will also take you to my dealer

I believe we WILL stay up. I think QPR have a run in that's just too tough for them given our own much easier (albeit not simple) run in and our two games in hand. I suspect Blackburn are down but I'd like them to stay up as I enjoy the banter with them.

My three are Qpr, Rovers and Wolves in that order with us seventeenth and wigan sixteenth.

I may sound too optimistic for the OP and I understand his reasons for believing we will be relegated although I disgagree with him. However I am very disappointed in those posters who have told him he's not a 'real' fan or that he should go and support someone else.

All he's done is post his opinion based on the facts as he sees them and while it may sound as if he's being negative I for one am sure he believed he was being realistic and that he hopes to be proven wrong.

To suggest he's not a real fan because you don't agree is rather petty gents and I know you're capable of better.

I am surprised at some of the comments received about my article. In the article I was being neither optimistic nor pessimistic. What I was being was realistic based on the current form of the bottom 5 teams in the Premiership. If the feeling at the club both among fans and the players is everything is going to be all right, then this will lead to a complacent attitude and things will probably not be all right. We should be alert to the current precarious position of the club and raise our support for the team and the team must play all remaining matches as though each one is a cup final.

As to the comment that I should perhaps support another team, I was born and brought up in Bolton and could not and will not support another team, even if the club is relegated.

after holding a season ticket for years now and attending almost every home game and plenty of away/European games, I have sat in every stand in the Reebok at some point (although my usual 'seat/standing area' is in the ESL) and I can conclude that a vast amount of our fans are simply not that bothered about if we win lose or draw, I mean it totally destroys my weekend if we lose, were I sit everyone is like minded, but from sitting in other stands the general feeling I get is that a massive amount of Bolton fans are simply apathetic. football is not a big thing to them and they will find something else to do on a Saturday should we go down....

not saying ANYONE on this forum is THAT bad - as you spend massive amounts of time on here debating the wanderers. I just get the jist that most of our fans in general, dont really care that much.

I think the fact the atmosphere is not electric gives an indication of peoples attitudes towards our performances.

In fairness, bums are on seats...

Great deals from the club has meant there's plenty there... They want to be vocal I'm sure, but it's been difficult this season...

.........

perhaps your right...

but even when we were within spitting distance of a champions league spot 'fortress Reebok' was no Britannia...

I've always felt a certain amount of our fans are apathetic to the club...this has been proven by the fact...

we dont do good protest (the megson out 'protest' was a joke)

we dont have an 'anthem' that the fans sing (Ie Delilah - stoke, Never walk alone - Liverpool etc) and will probably never have one - 'manny road' does not count as its used by other clubs with the words changed and only really sang by the few in the ESL anyway.

We didn't even sell out for our biggest match in years - the FA cup semi.

Trig...

There are many reason we have none of the above... But here is my theory...

We are still affected by the Division 4 days... When crowds dropped to 5/6000, not only did we lose the numbers during them years, but the generations that would have been recruited from the missing mob... That missed generation is missing now...

10+ years in the Prem is meaning the foundations are back and slowly numbers are returning and stable.. Look at the kids and women folk at the Bok now...

Those poor years in the 80s took a lot of the Soul out of our club and it's hard getting it back..

I'm glad we don't do 'Good Protest' to be honest... I'd rather moan on here about Coyle than see the Ewood Mentality arrive at the Reebok..

It's a shame our louder fans didn't want to move to the North stand when Big Sam tried to move them... A kop end type stand would have helped... But after years on the paddock, fans wanted to remain on the side.... Or closer to the away end... So trig could eyeball folk!
