Jose is a chequebook manager, apparently.
"His [Pep's] overall spending since replacing Manuel Pellegrini now exceeds £100m and he is still aiming to sign a central defender, with Everton's John Stones his number one target."

Didn't you buy Pogba's bicep for a similar fee
And Pep is the god of youth development, remember. Like Klopp

Bit odd
Not sure why that means Chalobah sold and 'adios Aina'. Looks likely at this point that Aina will start West Ham and although I did say at the start of pre season Chalobah is one of the most expendable options at CM it's starting to look like he may have played his way into the squad for this season.
I took it more as likes of Kenedy will be loaned. RLC possibility. Remy sold.

Robben when Jose has yet to make the £100m Pogba signing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even so, £160m including Pogba for Jose the "chequebook" Mourinho.
Yet Pep, who brings every player through from La Masia, is about level (including Stones)
I don't care either way - if a club has money, spend it. Why not, it's not my fackin money... it's just funny how perceptions are made
Chalobah has looked great he's at the right age and has experience.
But Moses also has had good pre seasons and experience and has been gone
I am grudgingly accepting that RLC Will go on loan, however I think the club look at him as our poster child for the academy.
However the emergence of Aina could affect how the club view RLC it's baffling that people have said he's played poorly, sure he's been beaten a few times but there are more positives there.
Ideally I'd like matic sold I think he looks terrible and Chalobah should be in the side
Mikel is a technically better player than matic and with Kante and Chalobah we don't need him
We don't need changes up top either we have enough imo
Hang on I thought now Jose was gone Matic would improve cause everything was Jose's fault.
personally I reserve judgment over pre-season games. Taking anything from a series of friendlies which exist only to generate fans abroad and to get match fit seems pretty foolish to me.

How is Pep going to bring through La Masia from Manchester? I am no Pep fan but blaming him from spending money to bring in players who reflect his style of play (when the squad before clearly didn't) is silly.
And £160m is one of the most spent by one club in any transfer window.

Obviously that was tongue in cheek re: La Masia
Right, and if Utd do spend £160m the likelihood is that Pep would have spent £150m which is/was my point...
Having just checked £160m is the second most spent by any club in one transfer window, and more than Jose has ever spent

No but the media should get stuck into his spending a bit more than they do.
