I don't understand how bringing in players to your squad to better prepare you for your style of play when you first join a club should be frowned upon.
There is a lot made of Jose's spending.
Pep gets a lot of credit for youth development and organic player progression.
If the expected transfers go through for both clubs, then their spending will be very similar.

It shouldn't.
Also the point saying that makes Pep a chequebook manager when Jose has spent £60m more in the same window is funny
He hasn't though. Jose is on £60m currently.
Pep is on like £104m.

Traditionally Jose has spent more than Pep at every respective club. And this summer Jose is likely to spend more than Pep.
What is your point?
Cuadrado has looked good, really good in fact I am actually very excited about him next season he was one of the hottest talents when he came to us just didnt gel right away id be inclined to go with what we have

That he likely won't be that different
Are you being difficult on purpose? If so, fair enough.
You sure he will be able to cope with Jose's shadow hanging over him
Robben are you saying that Pep having joined Man City in the summer should already be in a position to bring through several of City's youth players who he doesn't really know, rather than spend money to shape the squad in his image?
Okay now you're being deliberately obtuse.
He's just saying the perception of Pep is of a manager who doesn't spend much but that was just an anomaly and it'd be nice if the media caught up to that fact.
Perhaps I gave you too much credit, Obers
I need a fackin nap now.

I don't think the perception is that Pep doesn't spend much. The perception is Pep plays good football and brings through youth players. Nothing to do with spending
Although I think it's partly erroneous. I can't help myself from associating youth and low net spends

Well, yes, this is it isn't it.
Youth devlopement, training and coaching are what Pep is known for. He's just spunked £30m on a Ukrainian kid and £37m on a Brazilian. That's poaching not coaching.
But Pep has always spent money. I think the perception is Pep spends LESS than Jose, rather than not spending money. And low and behold that fact is likely to repeat itself.
My perception of pep isn't relative to Jose it is stand alone
Hmmm.
Whereas Jose gets the tag of chequebook manager, yet Pep is this thrifty guy who just scrapes by using the minimal resources at his disposal.

So back my point before which you two bluntly ignored. Do you expect Pep who has just arrived in Manchester and doesn't know the youth players at his disposal, to instantly train and coach those players into his team?
Pep was manager of Barca youth sides before Barca, he doesn't have that luxury at City. So he can either stick to the current squad and trust in young players he doesn't know, or spend money on players who suit his system while training the youth players over a longer period of time. What else is he supposed to do?
