With 3 CM spots I think there’s more room for Mount to get a decent amount of game time next season especially if Lampard takes over.
I reckon we could convince Aina to stay. If we sell Alonso that will show him we have faith in him to share the role with Emerson and make it his own if he does well enough.
You’re probably right though, wishful thinking

If we knew what exactly was happening next season it would be easier to prepare ourselves for it.
The fact that we still don’t know for sure whether we’ll be able to make signings, or who our manager is going to be, just leaves a cloud of uncertainty over us.
I would just like to know one way or the other what our situation is going to be.
Club will probably release a statement three days before the window closes confirming that we won’t be appealing to CAS and that they hope to appoint a manager soon
Radical idea
No manager
Well not that radical. Essentially the Grant era again
Imagine if we had won in 08. Would he have been given the job?

Wishful indeed sadly.
I think next season could be very painful unless we make a plan.
Lampard should have the lieway due to his status with the fans and club to put faith in the younger players for a season. If it fails and they aren't good enough, at least we will know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We need to hope on one of Hudson or Pulisic suddenly becoming mature beyond their years, or Pedro doing a JT 14/15 esque last horah
If we keep Willian at least we can bank on him stepping up like he has when Haz is sh't
He might even score free kicks again
I don't even think Willian was that good in 15/16, he just maintained his level which looked spectacular stood next to the max 8 esque nosedives everyone around him was doing.
The one time he did truly play above his usual self was February/March last season.
He earned my respect for not being inexcusably terrible like the rest of that team
He also pulled out way more tricks than I was used to seeing from him

Really? Outside the freekicks i saw the same Willian i did the previous year, infact he didn't score a non FK goal till December.
The only time I've thought wow he's really playing above himself for a prolonged length was February/March last season.

Funny thing is Ive been called both a Willian hater and apologist on what feels like 100 occasions each, not quite sure how so many can't find very acceptable middle ground.
He's a very talented but flawed winger who probably is better as the 3rd winger (his most effective overall campaign being 16/17 while behind Pedro case in point) but at the same time far from a disastrous regular.
If you dont think he stepped up beyond his usual level in 15/16 it's like we were watching different seasons
For starters an attacker cant just maintain his level with no supply
He has to be performing above the usual just to maintain previous output in that circumstance

"Manchester City has launched a legal challenge to block UEFA’s pursuit of a Champions League ban for violating soccer’s spending regulations, The Associated Press has learned.
The Premier League champion has asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport to throw out the case that UEFA’s independent investigators passed to a panel of judges, people with knowledge of the case told the AP. They spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the ongoing investigation are confidential."

which he wont
mount, tammy, Zouma, Ampadu will be wasted under Allegri, Blanc, jose, facking capello or whoever we will hire, reckon most of those will plump for Drinky over mount
If we dont hire a coach with the specific remit to intergate youth in the next season then they should all leave
