Would it be a disaster though, missing out on a player that was only interested in securing a platform to show himself off, rather than a player who wanted to play for the club!

Brummie why would anyone from abroad join just to join us based on history and being an illustrious club? Most players, particularly foreign ones, are not Chelsea fans. Hence anyone who joins us will do so to take their career to the next level and challenge the big boys. Something he can't do at Lille.
That doesn't mean he's not motivated
He would join because he's hungry
He wants to play for a big club. He wants to win things or at least challenge a lot

It was the full team out bar the africans
That's the trouble with $puds.....they never used to think anything before
It'll get em in trouble
Coming 3rd could be bad for them in a strange way. Modric to get 100K a week. Other players wanting the same. Snowball
Plus their need for 3 strikers next season, and possibly a manager and a whole new backroom of staff
I can't decide if Bertrands new haircut is classy or camp
Was Coles injury serious anyone? Redmond is the type of winger who could cause him problems
AVB squads will you do your loan round up? It's on the we aint got no history site
Getting fed up with the lack of patience some Chelsea fans have, expecting either instant results or the manager's head. So frustrating. It's called transition for a reason.
Although most posters here seem to have a bit of sense, that's why mostly I just read the thoughts of you guys main board filled with either WUMs or idiots
I can understand everyone's frustration we are heading nowhere and are playing some awful football. Transition season does not mean we play some awful boring football and may end up out of the top 4.
Ive lost confidence in AVB but that doesnt mean I want him sacked
City missed out on the Champions League for a season now look. Its about backing the manager and bringing in the players for the system he wants to play IMO, long term more important than one season
I can understand the frustration from the fans because us lot on here have the same frustrations. Same frustration is not to be confused with wanting the manager sacked. I agree with TLLL. Transition does not warrant the way we are performing. This team should still comfortably be in the top 4 imo. Not challenging for the Premiership, but we shouldn't be performing the way we are.
AVB has done nothing to change the teams attitude or performance hardly going into the next match. Luiz/Mata/Ivan/Torres imo have been the only ones who are giving it there all every match. Or atleast trying to get the win.
AVB said we wouldn't underestimate Everton, then he alone takes the blame for the defeat, now why is that so hard to change for the next few matches?
This is far more than a transition. Imo the transition hasn't even begun hardly. If we sell 5-6 players in the summer, that will be a transition.
You can't compare CIty with us as they have never been in the Champions League before unlike us who have been regulars for some time now. We were tipped as title challengers at the start of the season but look at were we are.
Exactly, the newer players are the ones trying, that's why we need rid of the deadwood who are more interested in themselves than the good of the club, bring in younger, hungrier players who are ready to listen and let the manager do his job instead of disrupting things. The longer the big egos stay the longer we'll be stuck in limbo
Cech
Ivan - Luiz - Terry - Cole
Ramires - Essien - Meireles
Sturridge - Torres - Mata
Turnbull,Drogba,Kalou,Malouda,Cahill,Lampard
(Underperforming team)
Cech
Ivan - Luiz - Cahill - Bertrand
Ramires - Romeu - Essien
Sturridge - Lukaku - Mata
That team is much more of a 'Transitional' team than the one we currently field (or there abouts field with a few moderations from time to time) Don't think the club are anywhere near a transitional phase yet as far as players go.
Champions League would be enough for me this season. United went three or four years without winning the league then have dominated since 07.
