TJ absolutely need to keep it up. Even bus parking teams can’t cope when you press and move with intensity, hopefully we’ll have the freshness to kick on from here

Can easily slot Emerson there in other games
_______________
Emerson has never had a good game at wingback. He has no end product.

I do agree that it is the formation that we find the most balance with though.

Agree on the Emerson point. But being a natural left footer I'd prefer to see him there rather than Azpi as it ruins the balance. Happy for it to be Alonso for now, he should be fresh. But can get caught out due to his lack of pace. Nearly happened today but Tanganga ran it out of play

Damn didn’t notice Jose’s hair, or lack of it nowadays

Apparently his barber did him dirty so he had to shave it all off

Anyone else think Christensen played quite well today? Normally he’s a bit of a wimp but I noticed he had a bit of steel and nastiness about him today, loved it.

He's been good since Burnley imo.

Except after the broken nose vs Utd.

Azpi produces more with his left foot than Emerson. How many more crap games does Emerson have to play before the penny drops that he is utter rubbish?

I don’t think Emerson’s had many if any crap games. Some people’s views baffle me

I think he rather has a tendency to be scapegoated when we play poorly

Azpi ruins most attacks playing on the left hand side. His crossing has been atrocious from that side. Today he was at his most comfortable position. He could step out and press Moura knowing he had cover behind him and didn't have to go forward.

Emerson has not stepped up from his form at the back end of last season. But I rather see him on the left than Azpi.

Azpi crosses better than Emerson I assure you.

Not from the left he don't.

He comes back on to his right the majority of the time. Slowing down the attack or just losing possession. If he crosses with his left it usually a tame one that hits the opposition fullback.

I'm not saying Emerson is my 1st choice by the way. I'm happy for Alonso to continue as LWB because he should be fresh and is far more effective at going forward and good in the air for both boxes. My point was if were to rotate Alonso, I don't want Azpi to go as a LWB

I think Emerson's final ball is also poor from open play but weirdly he can put in a decent corner.

He does actually, and he will sometimes use his left foot. But not only that, he takes up much better positions than Emerson and creates more space. Emerson is just hopeless and that is why Frank prefers to play a RB at LB.

I'd have Emerson as backup more to do with balance as it makes sense to have a natural left footer at LB/LWB.

It should do, but he offers absolutely nothing with his left foot. He pulls play back more than Azpi does in that position. And in my view that is why he isn't picked?
