Alonso looked world class today

In a wingback system Alonso should always start. In fact we shouldn’t bother with that system unless Alonso is starting.

Azpi ruins most attacks playing on the left hand side. His crossing has been atrocious from that side. Today he was at his most comfortable position. He could step out and press Moura knowing he had cover behind him and didn't have to go forward.

Emerson has not stepped up from his form at the back end of last season. But I rather see him on the left than Azpi.

Wrong

I want us to continue with 3 at the back for the majority of the games left. I know it works well vs certain oppositions.

But a lot of our players are suited to it. AC is a better player with a defender either side of him. I don't want Azpi as fullback and is better in a 3. RJ can adjust to the RWB role, he did well defensively for me. Alonso just loves this formation anyway.

In midfield is my problem, lack of legs with Jorginho there. But in possession, I don't see a problem.

Two forwards behind the front man were brilliant, Mount and Barkley today. Giroud great hold up and finish for the goal today.

Yeah similar team for Bayern. Can see Azpi moving to RWB, with possibly Tomori or Zouma coming in for RJ.

And I see Willian starting for Barkley. I'm happy for Giroud to continue up front. Tammy didn't look fully fit in his short cameo

Also I think putting a rusty, recovering RLC on today with 20 minutes left at 2-0 would have been idiocy. Willian was the right sub, it's not Frank's fault he played crap.

And medically speaking if he's on the bench hes fit unless you know different
