Italy is just insanity, if it wasn't for Italy i'd have hope we could get this under control within the next 2 months like china did and other similar places seemingly have.

Italy has just thrown the biggest curveball of all time, 627 deaths today the highest day yet and they've been on lockdown for 12 days ffs getting worse it's genuinely insane numbers and very scary

i think london in a few weeks will be similar to northern italy

what are you basing this off though?

Nobody in the world is similar to italy as it stands

Germany is crazy in a good way, death rate is only about 0.14% and they've had 10,000 cases

its because oscar they'e not counting ppl with significant health problems who have been finished off by chinese virus

It took China 26 days of Lockdown before cases started to flatline, so maybe this 14 days lockdown stuff is very optimistic and it needs to be a month

We had more cases than italy on February 15th to February 22nd

does seem like we are exactly 2 weeks behind italy though looking at the graphs

if we predict similar numbers / virus frames for worst case scenario

spain - 6 days behind italy
germany - 7 days behind italy
france - 10 days behind italy
UK - 14 days behind

64,621 - 3,269
64,976 - 3,983

714 new cases today from only 2,300 new tests eek that's like a 33% strike rate from those tests. thats fkin terrible news

I guess the one small beacon of hope is Italy are in the rough of it and will be for another week/two, and there cases will likely end up around 100,000-120,000

And in the grand scheme things 120,000 out of 60,000,000 (0.5%) isn't that high a number of the population and will be similar across the board, probably 2-3% with unofficial cases.

So you only have a 2%-3% chance of catching it but someones gotta catch it, so yeh it's just going to be a lucky dip unfortunately, just gunna have to hope for the best

I got a pre corona trim just few days before it truly blew up, luckily
