653 apps is very impressive from Barry

To put that in perspective even if he made an appearance in every single game of a standard PL season the fastest you can do that in is 18 seasons

Made his PL debut for Villa in 97/98 season

But just 2 appearances that debut season

Connection between defense and attackers, an ability to break through lines and take on players, still young enough to potentially improve his goal contribution.

Not to mention he was our player of the season last year. He's just a very good player. Sorry, I cannot provide you stats for this.

In those games where we’re sat deep and struggling to counter I think he offers more than Jorginho.

Jorginho better for games like Palace where we’re on the front foot.

Considering we seem to sat deep by design for now and the near future i would think using Kova would be beneficial.

Yeah find it a bit strange. Jorginho hasn't played too badly mind you. Maybe Kova instead of Kante who's not been great.

So... Kovacic/Jorghi combo probably makes us the most fluid in transition but the most vulnerable in defensive cover.

Kovacic/Kante one would think would be our best offensive/defensive compromise, but probably means we struggle to beat the opposition high press.

Then as we are at the moment with Kante/Jorghino.

I like Kova in our teams and dare I print these numbers again without recourse 4 3 3
