Indeed
So Rice has rejected two contract offers and wants to be notified of any bids and people think he’ll cost £100m?
Remember when Leicester wanted £80m for Chilwell?

No...did they...?
I remember United selling Ronaldo for that...seemed a ludicrous sum

The three deals that have each time warped the market and increased everyone's prices are probably Zidane, Ronaldo and Neymar tbh.
I still remember when £30m would be the biggest deal of the window, and was a price reserved for the world's best players. Now, that gets you Iwobi.
Some of the elder statesmen might remember when Papin broke the 10 million threshold in 1992, or when Trevor Francis became Britain's first million pound player back in the olden days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
About 1980 for Francis... remember it well, although I think it was £999,999 on Cloughies orders
Leicester are tougher negotiators than West Ham when it comes to transfers and Chilwell also had 4 years left on his deal last summer, so if all the rumours stated Leicester wanted £80m for Chilwell and we got him for £45m then I’m not really buying that Rice will be £100m or bust.

“He has four years left on his deal, they have EL football, and no pressure to sell, only pressure to keep him.”
Again, all also true of Chilwell last summer with the possible difference being pressure from fans to retain him.
