Yep. I imagine Gusto——Silva——Colwill——Chilwell. That looks ok, except we have no backups apart from at left back. Maybe that McGuire rumour is true!

West Ham after Gallagher, they can pay half that Rice money they've received and he's all yours.

Yeah, Enzo's got it covered.

Gallagher isn't good enough so should go regardless.

Ideally, we'd buy two CMs irrespective of what happens to Caicedo.

Enzo, two new CMs, and one of the younger ones maybe Santos would be the right mix.

Assuming Caicedo is going to happen. Then I'd be quite happy to get £40/45m for Gallagher and then put all of that towards Lavia.

Auba to Marseille apparently, agreed personal terms.

Another deadwood/player who don't want to be here gone hopefully

Marseille are getting ‘closer and closer’ to an agreement with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He was convinced by their project.

Fofana’s injuries are a real concern, like with James.

I can’t believe we spent so much on him, knowing his injury history before even signing him.

My prediction is that neither James or Fofana feature for more than 50% of matches this season due to injuries.

If we don't bring in one more player that can play well at RB/RWB then more fool us otherwise we're going to be uber reliant on Malo Gusto to play big chunks of the season on his own with no rotation.

Chelsea have seen an offer worth £70M for Moises Caicedo turned down by Brighton & Hove Albion. The bid did not include add-ons.

Brighton's stance on Moises Caicedo hasn't changed.

They rate him in the same bracket as Declan Rice.
Chelsea are £30 million short.

Of course they do

I'm not sure why we still deal with Brighton. Had our pants pulled down every single time. Really need to start looking at other DM options more seriously to show them we're not desperate (even if we kind of are).

Why would they rate him in the same bracket? People have been talking Rice up for years. This summer is the first summer I've seen where Caicedo has even made it into the gossip column.

The club is in danger of experiencing yet another transfer fiasco. It needs to make a best and final offer to Brighton or go for alternatives. The worrying issue being its unclear if the club has a plan B for signing midfield players. How did the club imagine negotiations would go with Brighton given the squad situation?

posted on 18/7/23

I wonder if they sat round the table and thought "Let's sell Kante, Kova, RLC and Mount first and then go into negotiations to replace our desperately depleted midfield"

£70m was his asking price earlier on in the transfer window but because we’ve dragged this on his price has gone up (Rice deal has played a part). We should not pay more than £80m. Time to look elsewhere.

Yeah Rice has been hyped up for 3 years now. He was always going to cost around £100m. Whilst Caicedo has only broken through this season.

But they probably see the crazy fees we paid for Enzo and Mudryk who both had a good 6 months before signing for us for record fees.

Oh and they rinsed us for Cucurella so they’ll be looking to do it again.

Enzo worth every penny. And are you talking about the £62 million we paid for Mudryk or the pretend £89 million that the media like to keep falsely repeating?
