He is being played in the wrong position, but he looks pretty done tbh. He tailed off a bit at Madrid in the last month of their season. Should have been rested last night. Been a long season for him

Yes, that is my team too. Won't happen though.

Yup I've said before England's B team beats up our current A team.

The likes of Trent, Shaw, Palmer, Gordon and Watkins would muller the starting England side we saw last night.

Southgate is locked in a mindset where Kane, Bellingham and Foden have to start though.

One positive is that Southgate was talking very glowingly about Palmer in his post match interview. So maybe there is hope that Gareth will start to pick his best England team as opposed to shoehorning his supposed best players into the side regardless of form.

I saw what Southgate said, and I didn’t think it was that glowing. He was specifically asked about Palmer, which is why Southgate mentioned him, and went on to say all the subs came on and did well. Starting Palmer next game would mean dropping Saka - so we’ll see if Southgate is brave enough to do that.
