Phil Foden has left the England camp for a pressing family issue. Undetermined whether he will return for Sunday’s match.

Shame, but at least Godon will start left, but Foden been one of our better players versus a very low bar

Hopefully he'll put Gordon there instead

Southgate is locked in a mindset where Kane, Bellingham and Foden have to start though.

One positive is that Southgate was talking very glowingly about Palmer in his post match interview. So maybe there is hope that Gareth will start to pick his best England team as opposed to shoehorning his supposed best players into the side regardless of form.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw what Southgate said, and I didn’t think it was that glowing. He was specifically asked about Palmer, which is why Southgate mentioned him, and went on to say all the subs came on and did well. Starting Palmer next game would mean dropping Saka - so we’ll see if Southgate is brave enough to do that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Being asked questions is how interviews work. He was asked a question about Palmer and he sounded very positive about his performance in his answer from what I saw.

Wonder how true this link with Isak is, if we could get him then I'd be over the moon.

Palmer will 110% feature in the next game after his performance last night. Question is whether it's as a starter or as a sub. More than likely it will be off the bench knowing Southgate but at least he's getting a look in now.

When asked about Palmer's performance after England's stalemate, Southgate said: 'He showed what he's been showing in training. 'I think with him and Kobbie we had in our mind to get them into the game tonight, they offer something different.’

I wouldn’t describe that as “glowing”, but I think you’re right in that Southgate is finally seeing he has to utilize Palmer. With Foden going home temporarily it might mean Gordon will start on the left, but he’s unlikely to change Kane or Bellingham, which is a shame because they both look tired.

I might be alone in this opinion, but I don’t think I want him - particularly if it means spending record amounts on getting him. He’s a good player, don’t get me wrong, but he’s similar to Jackson in many ways.

Plus he doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to injuries.

And we would be helping Newcastle (a direct competitor) get the money they need while putting our own club in more financial peril. I thought we were done spending stupid amounts of cash on new signings.

That wasn't the interview I watched. I watched the game on ITV and then the highlights on BBC so as far as I recall the interview I saw was the BBC interview.

Belgium team finished without Hazard.

Lukaku an absolute donkey. Telling everyone else to close players down whilst he stands still like a statue.

Saka should be played as LB

Yeah, Lukaku hasn’t changed at all has he. Still strolling around, and asking teammates to do the running for him. Absolutely useless. Nobody is going to buy that lump.

I’d say so, they have been ranked in the top 10 since I started watching football.
