That’s a lot of money for someone that scored 8 goals last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whenever we might feel good about getting an alright fee for someone like Maatsen or Gallagher, that feeling instantly gets ruined when we spend a lot more on someone who’s achieved a lot less.
I'm in no doubt that the players we sell this summer would've contributed a lot more than anyone we bring in. Absolutely no one we've brought in this year for a sizeable fee is a noticeable upgrade on the potential sales.
Though the way I'm trying to think about it is that our sales this summer are essentially to fund past spending rather than this year's.

Simeone would never come to our circus. Same reason Pep dodged us like a bullet even though Roman tried to move heaven and earth to get him.
----------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure our fanbase would've had the patience for that long con City pulled tbh. Can you imagine if Mourinho was available & we choose to appoint Pellegrini instead? We'd have thought Roman had a stroke
Apparently going for both Omorodion and Osimhen.
Is Jackson on his way out? I wouldn’t mind seeing him play LW. Then we need to get rid of Mudryk.

BREAKING: Chelsea are back in strong for Samu Omorodion, discussing around £43m (€50m). (@DiMarzio)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’re looking to replace him with Alvarez.
I hope we loan Broja out. No point selling him now. That Fulham loan decreased his value big time. Maybe even send him to the championship to a club like Leeds.

Most likely mean Jackson to play from the left. Guiu on loan, Broja and D Fofana sold
Have we decided yet whether Mudryk is actually an improvement on CHO
So much uncertainty going into the season. We'll be a team of strangers playing a totally new and different style of play that many of our players never even got to play once in preseason. What could possibly go wrong lol

Probably worse. Maresca Ball is very different to our previous football. I don't think Poch football is overly difficult to get to grips with. Last season all our squad was much more settled going into the season, even if the wheels came off thanks to injuries. We're a mess right now.

Lol fair. But you're being too generous in your description of mudryk!
He was better last season than the year before at least. So there’s some kind of improvement in the right direction. It’s an 8 year contract or something so maybe he’ll be a good player after 4 years.
But unfortunately still basically sums up everything wrong with these new owners. If Mudryk was one of our own youth academy players we would have got rid by now.
You either pay big money for established quality. Or you take a risk on someone less proven but benefit from a lower price to account for the risk premium. That’s how asset trading markets generally work. These guys instead choose to spend big on unproven talent. As Hannah Montana would say, the best of both worlds.
That’s bs. Clubs now pay huge sums for potential and that’s how it’s been for a while now. You’re living in the past.
Is it right? No. Is it how the market now is? Yes. Don’t make it out like we are the only club paying huge sums for potential. I hope it changes eventually because too many clubs are getting burnt.
What we need are better scouts.
