And it's all well and good saying that every big money striker we've signed has flopped but there's a very long list of cheaper, low profile strikers we've signed that have also flopped. Many of which most of us have actually forgotten about they were so irrelevant.
And really it's not true that every big money signing has flopped. Drogba cost what was at the time considered a very big fee. And Diego Costa wasn't exactly cheap either for the time he was signed. Obviously prices have skyrocketted since then.

That's just two
The list of flops either expensive or not is way too long.
As for Jackson, well he needs to step up at least two levels this season. There were just way too many woeful performances from him last season.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it's two examples but they're very important ones as Drogba and Costa have been our most important strikers of the last fifteen years or more.
The point is that it invalidates this idea that all big money Chelsea strikers flopped. An idea I keep hearing more and more these days for some reason.
Hasselbaink cost us £15 million back in 2000 which was a very big amount of money then. That would probably be equivalent to about £70 million in today's market if not more. He turned out to be an excellent signing.
Fact is we've bought too many ill-suited big money strikers. Both Sheva and Torres were vanity signings by Roman with little thought given to how they would really fit into the system. Jose never really wanted Sheva.
Morata was always a very odd signing. Lukaku signing probably should have worked out better than it did but various factors were involved there.
Team feels a bit better balanced
Mads and Sterling doing their show already
Nkunku two unpressured passes out of play
Our fooking CBs
Honestly fook anywhere else in the pitch we need a CB or 2......STAT
Why are so many of our players so shaky. They look like they're playing in a big final lol
Vinicius gonna tear James a new hole this match lol
Typical Chelsea - look good with 0 killer instinct
Gusto ain't gonna make it to day 1 is he?
Come on Sterling.......can't let them overload us like that!
How easy is it to get at our defence? Championship standard.
Col will having a mare Bads doesn't seem to be on the pitch
Attackers aren't tracking....except for Mads
WTF are you doing Colly? Pathetic
We got a relegation back 5. Caicedo doesn’t stop anything and our back 4/5 are just really poor
I know it's only preseason but I'm starting to get worried about our defence...
Standard, all over the place.
High line is trash and we haven't got a clue
