Southgate was U21 manager 2013-2016 and came in after the 2013 Euros.
We got knocked out in the 2015 U21 Euros in the group stage - but the following year England won the Toulon tournament under him, which is an annual exhibition trophy.

Makes you wonder how Southgate ever got the England job with that resume lol.

Southgate probably a nice guy, exactly what the FA wanted.
Won't say anything bad in interviews, probably quite good with the players too.
Tactically inept but got this England team to the latter stages of major tournaments. So he'll go down as a success considering how woeful England have been in major tournaments prior to his appointment.

Someone like TT will most likely get this England team over the line as tactically he's levels ahead.

For me its absolutely obvious that Bellingham plays as an 8 for England. It's as obvious as how good KDB was gonna become

International Football's a different beast. Could say the same thing about Spain's manager.

The problem with Tuchel, or any foreign coach for that matter, is already inflated expectation levels go up 10 fold. And England don't handle high expectations well.
He is England's best chance on-paper though. Cos unlike other managers he'll appreciate Southgate neglected the attacking potential but will respect the fact everything below that needs help. He'd likely play a back 3

Nah, de la Fuente won the U21 European Championships with Spain before getting the Spain job. Southgate got the job after crashing out in the group stages
Sorry Devil you're having a bit of a mare on this one mate

I'm looking at his non youth team stuff, which most fans judge managers on.
Two clubs I haven't heard of, 11 games at Alaves & Bilbao's reserves.

Renato Veiga started for Portugal at CB. Looks like he could turn out to be a solid squad option.
Carsley in, he's overcome the tough Finnish test

They are gibraltarians. They don't really like the Spanish. Usually speak both Spanish and English. Weirdly, when they speak English it sounds like someone speaking with a Welsh accent. Oh and Gibraltar is a bit of a shot he

Both can understand yet feel bad for anyone who turns down the England job.
England & Brazil national team jobs are the two biggest in world football (imo), but come with the two most toxic atmospheres by an absolute mile.
