No way he distracted the keeper
Strong decision by the ref, I respect that.
Silva not interfering. Do think Wolves unlucky to not get a free kick before that series of corners though.
It's a shame — City are an elite team, they just make these moments for themselves in a way we haven't for about 10 years
It was the right decision but it's first time in a while I have seen a ref stick to their guns in a VAR review.
I suppose one could argue that he nudged the keeper causing the keeper to be distracted and push him away. But, I like the ref not bowing to VAR.
Agreed. Personally just think it would rule out a lot of set piece goals if that was the bar for disallowing one.
Also, let's hope for no VAR controversies at Anfield

I would say a controversy at Anfield is almost guaranteed. I always feel the Anfield crowd are the most influential home crowd when it comes to match officials.
Lavia excites me for the 20 minutes he plays each season.
Arsenal fans are so pathetic

This thread today if James gets injured or sent off
Blimey, didn't expect James to be thrown straight in. Should be interesting lol

Today was always going to be tough. Best option is to think about it in a more detached way: this is a test of how Chelsea play against teams that are better than them.
I want a disciplined performance where we are competitive. Could even get something from that game if that happens. What I don't want is us being steamrollered 5-0 like versus Arsenal last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah,I want to see a confident and competitive performance. Especially I want us to compete in midfield. If I see that I can accept the result
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Got to survive the opening 20 minutes. They’ll start fast. Hopefully no stupid mistakes. Sanchez due a bad game after saving our arses last game.
We love scoring an offside goal against Liverpool.
James has a normal haircut.
Injuries have humbled him

Guaranteed with Jackson. From what I have read,Liverpool do not play the same high line these days, if true, I would have gone with Nkunku.

Sanchez makes at least one poor pass leading to a chance every game, it's priced in.
Agree not conceding early is pretty key - I do think this could be anything from a 6-0 loss to a surprise performance of the season victory.
Don't really have a focal point with Nkunku or someone who is going to run in behind. Jackson is fine to start as he'll at least try to do the above.
Nkunku impact sub is a good option to have as I don't really see him as a striker

Would love it if we could go to these big grounds and pull off a victory. Feels a bit early for this squad as they don't have the maturity but let's see

Agree, I don't think they have the self belief or leadership on the pitch to see out a one or two goal lead at Anfield. So let's go three up
Usually ends a draw between us and Liverpool
Fancy us 3-1 today though we are just better than them plainly and simply
