I'll be very surprised if many stick, but we'll see. Either way, not much to do with him tbh.

Correct

Really don't get the argument. The tools Pep had and the way those tools were obtained by the club is irrelevant to his achievements as a manager.

It's only relevant to the club's achievements.

Citys back four was a horror show last night

Really think we can see off Arsenal today if we get selection right

If Palmer isn't fit then we have got to play either Nkunku or Felix in the 10 role , if Fernandez starts then we've lost.

It's not only down to selection. We are fundamentally a poor defensive team that is hopeless at coping with set pieces. And this team has consistently failed to demonstrate it has the mentality and leaders on the pitch to win the big games.

So today is a big challenge for this Chelsea, one I don't expect they are yet ready to meet.

Yeah but they've lost two of their last three & taken one point...as good a time as any...wouldn't have had City to squander a lead yesterday either...and lose 4 on the trot, but there it was

posted on 10/11/24

Obviously Palmer is huge here....we can kind of cope without him but it's a step down in midfield

posted on 10/11/24

Also depends where Enzo goes with his back four selection too

If Palmer doesn't play i'd like Gusto & Cucu in meaning possibly James could move up maybe with Felix & we don't need to use Fernandez who will be ineffective as usual

I think the points you make are key and actually align with my point.

City have lost four in a row, Arsenal are not at their best,Villa are failtering, its the perfect opportunity for this very young Chelsea team to put a marker down. It was a chance last weekend to agst United btw.

But....I just don't think this young team yet has it in them to do so. I hope they prove me wrong, cause a win today should be a massive step towards finishing in the top 4

For me you don't pick James ahead of Lavia and Caicedo in a midfield 2. You feelings on James is more an argument for him playing as an inverted RB.

I also think Jamea a very good RCB in a back three

Assuming Palmer is unable to start, Enzo Fernandez makes sense if Maresca is looking for a more conservative approach to the game. Felix would be a more natural replacement but I don't trust him.

They'll have 4 CBs , 2 midfielders and a striker all over 6ft. Whilst we have Colwill and Fofana, set pieces are going to be real hard work

I would love to see James play there as I think it suits hi., the problem I have is who would play in the middle of the back 3?

No you absolutely don't...but you can play him in there with them - he has the ball skills to find the pass over the top when given room to do so by the other two....he's twice the footballer Enzo is - fact
