I just don't see what anyone else expected apart from this. The 'Amorim has made a big mistake, lol what a disaster' take is funny and seeing United crumble is great fun, but I just doubt he was brought in to fix this season. He's there to, presumably, completely clear the decks and change the club and that's going to take a lot of time.
-------------------------------------------------------
We'll see soon enough.
My gut tells me it won't work as intended despite the good intentions of Amorim & Ineos. My gut also tells me Amorim has f@cked up - may still have a respectable career (United being a blip on it) but will never be in the same position of strength like he was at Sporting ever again.
Rashford is the deal they need to get right. Phase 1 of the rebuild could be done on his sale alone if they get enough money (logged as pure profit) for him. Need to get Saudi on the phone
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am sure they still had some expectations for this season and expected more than they've seen but I'd be amazed if they thought Amorim could transform this season or that he'd join without assurances about getting time.
I think they'll correct themselves enough to finish around 8th-10th, despite all the relegation banter. He'll be expected to start next season strong.
Anyway hopefully, they'll be well away in our rear view mirror for next couple seasons.

If they do this properly with both feet, it'll be interesting to see how they'll go about it.
They've brought in Vivell so imagine they'll be some focus on young players. Amorim's used to a moneyball approach, I expect him at some point to quote something like "we don't need Vitkor Gyokeres, we need to sign our own Viktor Gyokeres". Blanc's got experience with clubs used to hoovering up domestic based talent, Fletcher may echo this being the Fergie influence in the conversation.
Lots of different takes from lots of different people there.

I'd still have him here as a really good squad option and senior CB, especially if it's essentially swapping out Disaster for Tomori.

Hardly seems worth the effort - getting rid of a poor centre back and replacing him with a mediocre one. I’d prefer to wait until we can get a good player.
