Well, it's a well-known fact that the team who gets the first goal always wins. In fact, I don't know why matches last for 90 minutes, they should just end once the first goal has been scored.
On a serious note though, if you have a team who are destined to lose if they don't get the first goal, it seems like you have two options: either get them to man up and not be so defeatist, or make fecking sure they get that first goal.
He also said on Sunday that if it came down to the last game of the season, he would fancy us getting something from the Chelsea match.
On what planet and based on what performances would you actually be confident of this team going to the home of a side in the Champions League final, even if they are resting players, and getting a result?

A worrying statistic, we've conceded 7 goals in injury time this season. That's two more than anyone else.

All; I too thought they would hang him out to dry, but then came the "protests" by the paying customer and the media found it easier and more sell-able to blame the fans than the incompetent manager. All these media blokes are closet wannabee or ex-"stars" and they would much rather blame a bunch of people they don't really ever want to meet face to face than someone that might someday give them their own 5 minutes of fame. Pathetic innit?
