Patrice Evra is giving his all for the team.
Maybe he just isn't as good as he used to be. IT happens.
It was getting a bit embarrasing last night, how easy Nasri got passed Evra.
Though I don't think it is a lack of commitment. It's just we have no other LB. Fabio is always injured. So Evra can have a bad game and know he still will get picked the next game. We need some competition at LB.
Also, he has played virtually every game for us this season so it could be fatigue. He is not as young as he used to be.
He's getting older. He can't go on forevra.
Have you ever heard of the word decline? It happens to footballers when they reach a certain age

Maybe he has his mind on other things.
He has a strike to organise for the summer hasn't he? He has to get the ballot papers out early this time, last time was a bit of a fiasco. It is all about the planning.
surely its opinion, not a fact
Someone may think a player is giving 100% for the team, another may disagree. Doesn't mean either is lying.

Are you saying Evra is in decline?
I've been saying it since last season.
Maybe he'd better lay of the L'escargot.
He has got lazy working back. Seems to always have energy to get forwards on the break, but is now less willing to dig in when the attack breaks down. He is also slow to shut wingers down and block crosses. His ability is still there and he is still fit enough. He just got lazy and needs a kick up the backside.
To doubt any player not giving his all especially in a Derby of that magnitude is laughable. We came up against a great team, and the difference in the end was a failure to defend a set piece. Credit to City, they ended up going on the defensive and maintained their concentration throughout.
Patrice Evra isn't the same player he use to be, we all know that but we don't harp on about it, criticising him all season. The fact is, it's the Managers decision to play him, to buy cover for him, or to replace him. All we can do is support our players that are wearing our colours, and trust in the Managers decisions, even if we question otherwise.

Cool
But if you guys are saying its not about desire and commitment. How is it that Carrick (played roughly same amount of games as Evra and same age) and Rio (older and has had injuries) can chase down Nasri and win the ball?
Evra's not been giving it his all for a good 18 months now.
He no longer has an international future after his World Cup antics, he's won everything there is to win in England, he's in his 30s, on a very nice salary and has no competition for the LB spot.
The motivation simply isnt there for him anymore

No it isn't. There were times when Nani should have shut wingers down and blocked crosses but he didn't. So for me, he wasn't giving his all.
No longer had an international future? He has been playing for France!!
Players of Evra's age should still be in their prime, it's a shame Evra's didn't last so long.
He is still fit enough and good enough. He just needs to work harder.
I agree with Elvis. I still think he has the ability and something to offer. I just don't think he's putting as much effort in as he should be, especially tracking his runners and the positional side of his game which has been poor for sometime now.
He needs some competition for the left back spot. He needs to know that he's not undroppable but because he's captain and because there's nobody to challenge for his position, he thinks he is and it's effected his performances IMO.
The OP could be right, but I'd go further and say that anybody who calls themselves a United supporter and NEVER, EVER, lets a week go by without abusing one or more of our players is even more of a bare faced liar.
Couldn't watch that game again ever, even it was only to confirm my belief that Carrick was the only player giving his all. Why blame just Evra? How about Smalling for NOT getting between man and ball for the goal? He's man lost him with enough room to park a lorry in between.
How about Park for wearing his ice skates yet again - slipping and sliding all over the gaff, or SAF leaving what ever serious threat we needed sitting on the bench ffs!
No one except Carrick or a "tired" Scholes shone yesterday and there are many other games that certain players didn't show up.... Evra is no different, he's just another United player out of form. He is not immune to the failties of a pro footballer nor is SAF immune to the failties of being spot on with his team selections... yesterday for one!
