I'm feeling the same way. The Pearce signing is
already better than the whole of last summer's work
by the club (or lack of work).
Yeah but we all know from your past posts your either a WUM or pretty clueless when it comes to football Chorley.
Warnock has just spent as much as Grayson ever spent on one player to bring in the kind of player we've needed for the last two years, but Grayson couldn't sign.
Chorley just loves him some Bates, that's all.
Clive, Grayson brought in Danny Pugh for 500k plus several others on "undisclosed" fees
look where that got us.
Doppler, this summer already has an air of positivity.
Indeed Danny Pugh for 500k is a travesty, I can see why Warnock kept him but he will be a squad player purley because of his versatility.
Plus I agree, couple more signings of a similar ilk to Pearce will get everyone on board. It does not take much for us Leeds fans to get optimistic and pack out ER!
I think the 500 grand on Pugh was the most he spent on one player, and he's not even good enough to get in a poor team.
Pearce is supposed to have cost the same and look at his credentials.
Doppler
Make your mind up. If Pugh is a travesty then why keep him?
Yep I agree which is why I'm optimistic, with Grayson I always feared the worst, especially last summer. When Brown and Rachubka came in as well as O'Dea all hope was lost.
Grayson signing Pugh alone, merits the cheque book
being taken away from him. Happy he's at Huddersfield.
Are you playing devil's advocate or devil's a r s e hole, Frank?
If the situation was different I would sell him, but he only signed in January for 500k. Near impossible to sell him and retain the money we brought him for.
The reason I say it was a travesty is because at this level half a million as a lot of money and could of been used more shrewdly.
However he is versatile so he as a squad player which he will be he is of some use
Why could Grayson not have signed Pearce instead of O'Dea or giving Kisnorbo a new deal?
Doppler, in your defence, I think SG saw Pugh
as a replacement for Max. Which clearly he wasn't.
At best, he's a solid squad player in an NW team.
Sadly, SG saw him as a major part of his team.
A team that was proved to be a carp.
Pugh a replacement for Gradel surely not even SG could of believed that?
NW will use him on the bench to fill in a left back, left midfield or in the middle - and I suppose he will do a job for the odd game here or there
SG had put together the most exciting, young attacking front 5 in the league.
Snoddy Johnson howson kilkenny Gradel
Becchio
All 5 of those should have been given top wages and top contracts. Sadly papa decided otherwise.
The only criticism of SG is that he could not put together a champ level defence.
Kilkenny - signed by McAllister
Snoddy - McAllister
Howson - Academy Product, already established
Becchio - McAllister
Johnson - McAllister
So how can you credit SG with that is beyond belief Frank
Or stand up to Bates. Too afraid to lose his dream job.
And that lack of back bone lead to him losing his dream job. Too often he stood by and let our best players
walk. He has only himself to blame. Which clearly he never
did when he was here. Besides, weren't 4 of those
5, Frank, brought in or brought along by Macca? SG was
only involved in the Max signing, right?
5 of 6. And what Doppler said.
Doppler
Oh so that's how it works.
Two full seasons of working with those players and the credit still goes to Macallister.
He only signed Gradel.
He didn't rate Kilkenny.
Warnock has said Snodgrass is a special player at Leeds which is why he's been offered the top rate.
When did Grayson say anything like that or give an indication that he really wanted players to stay?
