according to a gmp estimate at the time, over one million people turned out in 99 when united returned home with the treble, and that's with 60,000 still in barcelona. our parade that night started in sale and finished at the m.e.n arena, around seven miles.
city are trying to claim 100,000. even if that were true it is just a tenth, A TENTH, of what united got in 99. also, they didn't even leave the city centre tonight, they stuck to tight, narrow streets which they knew could be easilly filled. from what i've seen it was the same crowd of people following the bus all the way, something which is impossible to do at a parade that is well attended. hope this helps.
Not classy but funny.
For example, spitting on Joey Barton wouldn't exactly be classy, but it would be extremely funny.

still laughing? and bare in mind that that picture only shows deansgate, the same street which city went down tonight if you want a comparison. one million was the estimate for the entire parade, which included hundreds of thousands outside old trafford as well as 50,000 in the m.e.n arena for the civic reception.

According to GMP. It was 500,000 not 1,000,000.

i can only assume they've got the 100k figure by counting the amount of commuters who passed through the city all day as well. i fully expect the manchester evening blues however to claim that at least three billion were there.
Stop crying BusbyBabes. You sound like you're 6 years old.
the bbc article from the next day states "an estimated one million". hope this helps.
for clarification purposes, 500,000 was the figure in the city centre itself, one million was the total on the parade as a whole, which as i said lasted for seven miles.
In fairness, my 13 year old brother just laughed at this, I'll let you off.
