Normally I'd be the last person to defend Tevez but on this occasion he hasn't done anything other than wave a humerous placard that was handed to him and he's being villified.

Indeed, even by his own club
UnitedRedMacca - I'm not sure City vilified him over this, but I know you're delusions are there to help your brain process a situation that you find intolerable x
I imagine Vicky Kloss typed that apology out on her phone while she was laughing.
As I said on a different thread, for a set of fans that have regularily burnt and hung effiges of Malcolm Glazer, I don't see why this has riled you so much.
I was in the pub earlier and it's on the back page of The Star, I mean really, do me a favour.
We'd better think of a new name for the Demolition Derby, I'd hate to think that some rag in Kuala Lumpur might assume that we took to the pitch in a convoy of JCB's.

Wouldn't want them confusing the 6-1 mauling with the tactics Fergie employed at our place no.
That was a convoy of London Routemasters.

As I've already said on this thread, City should sell him quickly and disassociate themselves from him. The club and plenty of fans have shown class this season. The team deserved the PL victory by what they achieved on the pitch, and the majority of fans and the club have been humble in their celebrations.
But Tevez was just using this joke as an excuse to have a dig at SAF. Tevez is a despicable person (as shown by his antics throughout the season) and personally I don't think he deserves to celebrate the triumph with the rest of City's players.
Spot on MyNani
There were absolute warriors on that team bus.
Seeing Tevez amongst them was just sad nad then he did that
Seems to me City fans are defending him because it's Sir Alex. Sorta like, they are saying we hate Tevez but hey, it's Sir Alex he's having a dig at so that's ok
I don't think he will be sold from what I've heard through the grapevine...
I suspect at the root of the problem is a simple fact
He's as thick as $hit
Can you imagine Vincent Kompany smiling and holding the placard up? Thick talented footballer manipulated by a tw @ of an agent and all we are seeing are the consequences of it
He's probably won a few City fans over by doing it, I was in the balcony bar in Piccadily when they showed it on Sky and everyone in there cheered, and if he is going to stay, earning our support back is more important than pi55ing a few more reds off I suppose.
PPLF
Exactly
This was City's massive day and the headlines were Man City apologise to United.
Kompany or Hart would have just put it on the floor,
Let's get a few things straight here. Fergie led him to belive that he'd get a permanaent contract at United then dropped him like a stone when the Glazers imposed their financial restraints.
Fergie said they had been trying to contact him all Summer - They had sent him a text message.
They said they tried in vain to contact Joorachabin - Really, do you think a man like that would switch his phone off for 2 months?
What we do know is Gill tried to persaude Tevez to buy himself out of his contract with Kia with a promise to pay his legal fees and a £3m signing on fee. Tevez would have none of it so United walked away and left him free to join another club which happened to be City.
City have a genuine grievence against Tevez but United don't and spreading stories in the media about him costing City £47m, which is blatently untrue has only fuelled the animosity between Tevez and the club that once had him on loan.

Boris
What has that got to do with anything
Yesterday was about City, not Carlos Tevez and United
I'm amazed you're defending him. You've done nothing but rip him to shreds most of this season. He does another classless act, but this time it's ok because it's about United and as Grated says, he's probably won over a fair few City fans because of it.
You can act like a complete tool when it comes to United, just don't do it to us
Oh and Boris, all that you wrote is hearsay and if you chose to believe Kia after the bollox he came out with when Tevez did one, well, I'm surprised
If the sign had said 'RIP Malcolm Glazer' noone would give a toss, the stench of double standards stings the nostrils...

I assure you this is not a dig at City. Pretty sure Mancini would have ripped it out of his hands if he'd seen him doing it.
It was awful and like I said earlier, the club showed total class in condemning it straight way
Liverpool could learn a thing or two from Manchester City Football club
Sorry Macca, my thoughts on Tevez haven't changed but I don't see why everyone should be given free rein to slag him off for holding up a harmless piece of cardboard last night.
You should question the actions and words of your own manager before anything else, if Fergie hadn't said "Not in my lifetime" then the placard wouldn't have been there in the first place. If he'd conceded the title with grace rather than rattling on about "against 10 men with 5 minutes injury time" the perhaps he'd be the last person on a lot of City fans' minds at the moment.
I know you're not sniping at us Macca, I just didn't think people would have actually been offended by it... But they obviously have. I wouldn't defend Tevez if I thought he'd been out of order.

So could United. Like how to win the league for example.
What Tevez attempted to do was rub salt into the wounds. He was trying to have a dig at SAF, and couldn't just win graciously. None of the other City players tried to have a dig. The club and the manager didn't. This is about Tevez. As Macca has said, the club showed class by apologising for it.
Fans of all clubs often gloat and don't win humbly. But players should show some decency to their fellow competitors.
