our injury ravaged team managed to attain the same total as points as them over the course of a season. minor tweaks are all that is required.
giggs was one of our best players on sunday.
Kagawa is on par with Gotze, he is a 'big player' IMO.

Agreed. In terms of performance levels this and last season, they have been just as good as each other
Gotze was always going to get more media attention because he is german playing in the german league.
I still dont see how Kagawa will fit in though (if we sign him). People are saying he will play no.10 role when Rooney needs a rest but that essentially makes him a back up? I hope Fergie doesnt mould him into a CM like he did Anderson and ruin his creativity

Against a team that won just 2 of it's last 15 games.
Passed the ball to everyone bar his own team mates in the derby, although he wasn't the only one.

Wow have Sunderland been that bad?
I thought O'Neil had turned them around?
against a decent team who rarely lose at home and who turned city over twice. united were excellent on sunday, and giggs was one of our better players.

For how long? He's 39 in November, and when both he and Scholes play in the same team it usually shows. It's about time we look beyond him and turn our attention to someone who actually will be carrying the can over the next few years. Keep him on the bench for experience by all means, and games where we'll have a lot of the ball without being pressured, but there's some games he shouldn't be playing. And his inexplicable desire to constantly try to pull off little flicks is annoying.
we all know United need a couple more players in certain postions but throwing millions of ££££s at it does not always work.
Right players.

They got past the 40 point mark and fell away big time
Try Argos, they've got a sale on as usual.
we shop at Lidal
in the sales!
i agree, he shouldn't start big games, i was just pointing out that he did play very well on sunday.

I'd much rather have players turn into stars at Man Utd, rather than sign a established world class player tbf. This has never been the way our club has done it. Berbatov, maybe Rio are the exceptions.
Good, young players, who aren't after the money but are interested in playing the beautiful game.Players who will develop with years to come.
That's what I would like to see, and I'm sure most United fans would.
Rio was a massive money signing, but he wasn't world class when he was signed and he was only 22 as well so pretty young. He became world class around 2006 and on from there. Classic reader of the game.
Giggs shouldnt play in big games anymore sadly.
Gives the ball away almost all the time and doesnt have the legs to get back leaving us massively open.
Scholes is still the best in the league for 45 minutes in my opinion, in the second half he falls off badly.
We need somebody who can keep possession like Scholes and then somebody who can power it through the middle like Yaya
Arab I think everyone knew his potential and he was fast becoming world class at Leeds IMO. He needed the step up to Manchester united to complete that.

Is it just me that's flicking over to SSN every 10 minutes looking for any little snippet of transfer news? Bloody hell the season is only just finished and I'm already climbing the walls.
Arab, I think you underestimate just how good Rio was at the age of 22. He had 21 England caps and played brilliantly at the world cup along with Sol. He was an established defender as well. Perhaps not quite world class, but certainly not far off.
I'm not underestimating him at all, although I was about 10 years old when he signed and back then I knew he was top quality but I just pointed out he wasn't world class yet but of course not far off.
I understand that Joey Barton might be available!
we need a marquee signing this summer

We need to improve, yes. Signings and youth promotions could both do with happening. But with regards to a marquee signing I don't think it's as much "we need" as "you want."
