No but I've seen a football match where thousands of English fans are attacking Irish fans, were 70 people were injured, one died and 40 fans arrested. That's fine though, there were English, it's those nasty foreigners who are the problem.

I didn't say it was racism.

Many people in Eastern European countries haven't seen people from other countries or races often, they are new to it, you'll find younger people are much better aware now as they slowly begin to understand. Obviously there is a long way to go but Poland has come a long way, especially since joining the EU. These groups attack people of different nationality not just race.

I believe that no country should be allowed to host a major international tournament unless you are able to provide the following:

1) Developed and stabile government infrastructure
2) A strong and PROVEN record of providing security
3) Ranked in the top 50 of the economic freedom index (http://www.heritage.org/index/ranking)
4) Ranked in the top 50 of the Quality of Life index (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality-of-life_Index)
5) No religious or ideology based governments

Whilst I understand what you mean by this I completely disagree. People can be taught from a young age but until they actually witness people of different races and nationalities and see that people are all the same, there will be no big improvement. This kind of event will educate those who aren't educate but of course you will still be left with some mindless idiots like every country.

You have to weigh the bad against the good before you hand it to anyone.

You are right that every country has their mindless idiots, however (and I hate to say this next part but it is true) but "western" influenced countries (UK, US, Canada, etc etc) have taken appropriate steps to weed out those that ruin it for everyone else.

You have a country like Ukraine, who acknowledges that there is an issue, but i have yet to see Ukraine actually do anything to protect the visitors that would be visiting the country.

But I am not surprised really...after all the government is almost corrupt like Russia

I agree with you but with events like this, under the eyes of the watching world, governments will have to act and police will have to be educated. These events can only serve to speed up the process of these countries actually taking the steps you speak of.

99.9% of governments are bent.

They stick their greedy snouts in the trough scavenging,leaving the scraps for the rest of us to fight over,whilst putting the blame on ordinary people for the fallout.
One thing their all good at is absolving themselves from any responsibilities.

In the recent sky sports news special report on the Ukraine ultras, they secretly filmed them and the evidence is there on tape. I'll bet not one charge has been brought against any of the people featured in that report.

Now if it had been in England, the people featured in said report would have been arrested charged and bailed with in days and Fifa and UEFA would have condemned us and been seeking sanctions against them!

Totally agree with you fella, not only is it a concern for travelling fans, but if it was the same over here uk EUFA and FIFA would refuse to gives us the tournaments until we got it sorted
