Well people are getting on the Eastern European's are racist bandwagon but the likes of the US, where two guys after a drink got lost and walked into an area which made them the minority colour, they were killed.

In Jamaica tourists are 'fenced in' and warned about going out of the parameters.

In Jamaica and many African countries people will be killed for their colour.

Why don't we hear about this? Well because the Euro's are going to Poland and Ukraine, so we'll big in up, sensationalise it and therefore the sheep will follow.

Countries like Poland and Ukraine need events like this so they become familiar with other nationalities and races like we have. Intelligence there will have profiles of these groups of idiots(which we have in the UK and most other countries have) and will be targeting them during the Euro's.

You still didnt answer what did we see?

-------------------------

An extremely biased edited out 'document' typical of the media in England. You might not now but originally both Legia Warsaw and Polonia Warsaw were clubs from the capital where the research was done.

The interview with Polonia's Jewish player from Israel, Baruchyan (who said that he was never insulted even though is one of the very very few Jewish footballers in Poland) was cut out of the final version.

The interview with English supporters who participated in a supporters march at Polonia and were complementary of the atmosphere, was cut out in the final version.

The statistics from Polish police, showing a systematic decrease in violence and increase in safety of the stadiums was cut out in the final version.

Sol Campbell (sic!) thinking that he has the authority and expertise to say: "Stay at home, watch it on TV. Don't even risk it… because you could end up coming back in a coffin." As a matter of fact, the last (and only) time in his career when he played on Polish turf was 15 years ago.

It is ironic that similar claims were made by BBC in 2006 when they were warning of the eastern European hordes swarming Germany.

It is ironic x 2 that Poland and Ukraine were in direct competition with Italy for the tournament. Now that's a dangerous football culture, where people don't just hear abusive chants. They die during football matches.
-----------------------------------------------
Just let it pass you by mate. The people in this country are far too easily brainwashed by the British media.

There's a Polish newspaper running here and there are offering people free board in Poland, during the Euro's, as they have been treated so well here and would like to show their gratitude. These are good people, it wouldn't be a story seller though would it, to sell nice stories?

Sol Campbell is another idiot, like Des Walker and that imbecile Clarke Carlisle, who like to play the victim and big up small incidents into a catastrophe.

In every country you'll find idiots who give the country a bad name but there is certainly not a racism problem in Poland, which you'll find, as I did many black people and arabs throughout Poland, especially in cities like Warsaw.

In Ukraine, yes, there is less integration but this is the type of event which they need, in order to learn and understand other races and nationalities. Just like the saintly UK had to, all those years ago and even now, there are still some incidents, which could be put into a documentary and made to look like a nationwide racial problem.

TOOR - I see why you and TB don't get on - he believes everything he reads in the papers, you believe nothing. There must be a happy medium.

There were complaints from some quarters in Ukraine about their choice of entrant in the Eurovision - she is half Congolese. They said people watching the Eurovision would think Ukraine was in Africa. That's a poor comment on so many levels! Can't imagine that type of comment being said in any European countries.

Although to get back on topic, if you're getting your international insight from the likes of Sol Campbell you deserve to be ignorantly ill informed. Try picking up a broadsheet that isn't the Times or the Telegraph x

I'm not having a go at anyone in particular, but who gives a damn what Sol Campbell says or the Ox's family or whoever has an opinion published this week?!

What exactly are their credentials in judging the safety of a country? Have we suddenly resorted to treating ex-footballers and some kids mam and da as international commentators?! God give me strength.

You know what, I'm thinking of visiting the Sudan, should consult an expert, or ring the home office? No I'll just take advice from some dumbass at the pub x

I think the Panorama programme was a polemic (as usual), where was the interviews with the anti-fascist clubs like Arsenal Kiev and Polonia Warszawa. Yes the incident against the Indian student was awful, but it was isolated. And nothing in Panorama was worse than what I've seen in Italy.

Racist chanting is fairly common throughout Portugal, Spain and Italy, but no one says it's too dangerous to hold a tournament there. Yes there's a lot of fascism, but is that really surprising in countries that spent most of their recent history crushed under the boot of Communist oppression?

All the media is really doing is playing on the fear British have of Eastern Europe that still echoes from the Cold War x

I don't read newspapers, at all. If I did, I would believe things I know to be correct and things which have been proven to me. In fact I carry this into life also. I don't carry any faith towards anything, certainly not blind faith.

Yes that was a poor comment from Ukraine but I can tell you several poor comments from people in the UK, although there's no documentaries about it, which omits all the good points but leaves in and sensationalises everything bad.

The same happened before Germany and even before South Africa but where are all these incidents?

Furthermore it was ONE government party, a right wing party, who criticised Ukraine's intention to send that girl. We have these parties here in the UK also but everything's great in the UK, it's just those nasty foreigners.

The media has all the sheep brainwashed into hanging on their every word and how they get away with it, when it comes to a subject so sensitive, is beyond me. People will be shouting "baaaaa!" next.

TOOR - when you say 'the media' are you referring to tv rather than the press? I don't read an actual newspaper but I scan sites like CNN, BBC, Guardian just to see what's happening in the world.

I think the Ukraine/Poland racism thing has been sensationalised - there's a shocker - but the public need warning about potential dangers in all areas.

Violence at stadia in Italy, for one, is well known, warnings don't need to be given when British teams play there, but not much is known of Ukraine/Poland. Those fight scenes weren't made up - people have been made aware and can now make up their own minds whether to go or not. I don't think anyone is suggesting mass racism in either of the countries.

Where did anyone say everything is great in the UK? It also appears to be solely you referencing foreigners as "nasty"? Are you saying you believe fascism/racism is split completely equally amongst countries; or do you think some countries are worse than others?

X

Would you like the respective reports from the independant commitee on Italy, Spain and Portugal? Yes, they all reference problems at football matches with racism. The difference being, the report for the Ukraine states that things are not improving "Overall, tolerance ... appears to have significantly declined in Ukraine"; coupled with law enforcement not acting on it, and the government not pushing to stamp it out. See, the biggest concern isn't the racism, its the lack of acting on it by those in power.

Yes and I understand that. But why did the BBC make a documentary showing only isolated scenes which showed people in a bad light but edited out all the good scenes and all the fight against racism initiatives? I'll tell you why; it didn't fit their sensationalist story.

Travellers don't need to know the good stuff - presuming they've already made their minds up to go - but they do need to know the dangers. That's why you have a look on travel info before going to a new destination - I'm regarding this more as travel information than denegrating a country.

------------------------------------------
It's the beliefs that many people have here due to the media brainwashing. Don't underestimate the power of brainwashing, which has been working for years, in moulding peoples views and having them believe what you want. As for the media, it pays to sell bad stories, not good one's.

Are some countries worse than others? Yes, there are a few, namely Jamaica, which is probably the most racist country in the world but that's fine, it's against white people.

Same with many African countries.

The likes of Ukraine, like the UK, only a few decades ago, don't have as much integration and therefore haven't developed as much in respect to racial issues but without these kind of events, they won't develop. Everything has to start somewhere.

People keep saying authorities aren't doing anything there but that's complete nonsense. Authorities there are working around the clock to gather intelligence on these known groups and you can bet your bottom dollar, they'll be ready to move, if any incidents occur. I fully expect the event to pass without any major incidents in regards to racism.

Come on. That's ridiculous. It made their minds up for them. it didn't give a balanced view and therefore people couldn't digest the information and make their own minds up, instead they were brainwashed with idiots like Sol Campbell, telling people to stay at home or you'll come home in a coffin! It's outrageous advice!

Before I went to Georgia, I read a few sites. I read of a country that barely had water or electricity, whose roads were terrible and it was dangerous to go out at night, which upon seeing foreigners would rip you off.

None of that actually was true and locals are shocked to hear this.

Never believe something you read until you know it for yourself, or it is proven to you. This is my advice to anybody and I believe it better than Sol 'idiot' Campbell's. I guess with your being religious, that would contradict your beliefs, so I'll just leave it at that.
