Whoever it is (Rodgers currently looks very likely), needs to be given time by the fans, but more importantly be FSG. This is a decision they have to get right and they need to give the new guy the funds to strengthen the squad. This hire 'em then fire' em approach needs to stop imo.
If you're implying that Swansea's "awesome system" was put in place by Bobby Martin then I'm afraid it's not true. Paulo Sousa was the manager after Martinez.
Rodgers is much bigger risk than Martinez in my eyes.
Although If i had my way, i wouldnt look at both first
Living in Reading I saw how he was when he was manager.
It's not that they didn't give him enough time or he was a bad manager it was just the wrong fit.
Kind of like Hodgson and Liverpool, great manager, wrong club.

Rodgers is clearly a better manager than Martinez. But, then again, so's Ian Dowie.
i saw first hand what the tried at reading and it was awful! The players had little or no respect for him and he certainly was not trying to get them play like swansea have been.
Ok so he beat reading in the playoff final, but that was down to shocking defending at the ex blackburn player Kishnasvilli (or however it is spelt). Had Karacan's shot not hit the post, reading were very much in control by then and i firmly believe they would have won.
If he does get the job i will support him, but i hope to god Van Gaal is there behind him guiding him through it.

I am implying that Swansea already had a good system in place that worked for them long before Rodgers got there and that he is benefiting from playing the same system. He has brought nothing new to Swansea's style.
Also if you think Dowie is a better manager than Martinez then you obviously on the WUM

Wigan finished 11th the season before Martinez took over. Since then they've finished 16th, 16th, 15th. He's one of the poorest managers in the league, and I can only assume he's kept his job because Whelan's barking mad.
just spoke to my german friend, a bayern fan from hoffenheim also a big Real fan, asked him what he thought of Van Gaal.
Respones, worst coach ever, he likes dutch style FULL ATTACK no def.... Also he never bought anyone as he prefers own youth.
and was sacked after 1 year at bayern.

Iain Dowie's win percentage: 38.98
Martinez's win percentage: 38.34

Bruce played defensive football which got Wigan results. You only have to look at Sunderland and see how his football flopped at a "bigger club"
Martinez plays a more expansive game, which may not always get him the results he requires but atleast he has a good football philosophy.
The transition from a smaller club to a bigger club is that bit easier when you play attacking football.
Enabled them to bring through Muller and Badstuber though
I dont like Van Gaal's attitude.
Always seems to fall at every club he joins. It cant be something wrong with all those clubs

Martinez may play 'a more expansive game' BUT IT DOESN'T WIN VERY MANY FOOTBALL MATCHES.
Its not been easy for Martinez having to lose his best players year in year out from Valencia, Palacious, N'Zogbia and Baines and then buy no one other than cheap players from lower leagues and Scotland. He has done a great job and succeeded now and in his previous jobs by playing attractive football.
Rodgers on other hand got a team promoted via a play off (hardly exciting) and then had a good season but no one knows how he will come in the second season when 2nd season syndrome kicks in. It's a huge gamble.
Haha some joker already put Liverpool under Van Gaal's teams managed on his Wikipedia page:

Rodgers did adopt a swansea team after Martinez had spent 3 years there doing an incredible job, setting the foundations etc the fans were hurt when he left for the EPL as he said he would have to be forced out of swansea.
Rodgers has some qualities but so does martinez, im leaning more towards martinez though for some reason. But id give either a chance if im honest.
So have Chelsea's Rap...whats your point?
Kash.
When you he was forced to buy cheap players do you mean like Al Habsi (£4mill) and Beausejour (£4mill) and Boselli (£6mill)?
He's working with a similar budget to Fulham, West Brom, Swansea, Norwich, and they all finished above Wigan.
Just have a cursory glance at his CV and you'll see he's carp.
