I hope so, we need the takeover to be progressing and hopefully done next month if we are to avoid another relegation scrap next year!
Rumours are though, that he wants Warnock as the manager, that would be interesting!
7 promotions under his belt for Colin. Can't argue with that
I'd have taken Warnock without hesitation around the time that McClaren left, but not now I'm not so sure, especially as he didn't seem to have any impact at Leeds. In fact you could say they took a step back. Would it be so bad if Cotterill remained in charge, after all he did bring in one or two pretty good loan players when he had the chance, so maybe he's got an eye for spotting useful players? Maybe?
I think if this Al-Hawasi does take over it is likely he will want Warnock. He will see it as bringing in the person who has been most successful in taking clubs into the Prem.
I don't see why he would want to keep Cotterill and risk being well off the pace by xmas.
Warnock would be backed with big bucks but I would think he would spend it wisely.
He has been there and done it before. That's what we need
Al-hawasi quote:
“This club is better than any of what you have mentioned like Watford or Brighton. The club has rich history.”
look on the os forest board can not comment to the rummor ----why
The reason is that the club are not negotiating it is Seymour Pierce for the Doughty's estate. The board are unlikely to deny it as they probably know what is going off but have been told not to say anything.
That's the way the club is run. We get the same thing when they sign players. We the fans stay hopeful.
Arab takeover from a purely selfish perspective offers the most hope of ambition for Forest fans. They are most likely to throw the cash around then say the Canadian consortium who would be more inclined to stabilize and build up over time. There's a real possibility that this Kuwaiti guy will want instant success so thats why he apparently wants Warnock who has the best record for promotion at this level so it cant be argued with.
The Leeds job is a tough one in its current form as bates has no money so wouldnt slate Warnock for not having instant success. if the Kuwaiti takeover comes off and he wants warnock then fair enough, it'll be his call as will his club, for the fans we can sit back and enjoy the ride and look forward to the club being run with ambition for once!
Hoping it's true, however I would not want to go down the Leicester route and buy loads of players on mega fees and wages who can only be bothered to play in the big games (do the double over Southampton but lose twice against Bristol City). To be honest if we only signed the the players who were here on loan, kept Gunts and Lynch and bought another decent centre half, right winger and a quality striker we wouldn't be too far away from having a very good team.
Camp
Gunts New player Lynch Cunningham
New player Raddi Pep Reid
Dex New Player
Add to that Moussi, Cohen, McGugan, Molony, Freeman, Anderson, Elokobi, Derbyshire, McGoldrick, Greening, Miller and Lachelles and it's not a bad squad.
On the manager front, I think Cotterill should be rewarded for keeping us up I would hate to just see us get rid, he certainly has an eye for players and brought out the best in McCleary and Raddi. If we could keep him in some roll alongside 'dare I say Warnock' I would have no complaints.
That said lets hope all this Warnock talk isnt because the media and got it messed up and that this guy has leaked Warnocks name coz he's just bought Leeds??? Its a little coincidental that the rumours circulating are about Leeds or Forest and that this guy supposedly wants warnock who obviosuly happens to be Leeds manager??? Would be our luck if the media hashed it up and confudsed the two clubs and we end up with nada???
Hope he hasn't been to the CG yet... His seat in the main stand isn't exactly that inviting......
On saying that, we might get a new stand as well
We Forest fans need this and hopefully we'll be back at the right end of the table come April / May next year.

The Beeb are getting in on the act
It must be Forest, as it says he is buying 100% of the shares for the club, and Leeds are only looking for investment!
Hopefully things are looking up for once!

Apparently he doesn't have enough money for Leeds. So maybe it is you lot but i wouldn't be thinking you'll be challenging Man City any time soon.
Good old Iwas.... Wondered where you'd been.

How you wish that you could have attracted interest from a "potential" buyer of such wealth. Only time will tell if it is us but it is looking good.

He's been demoted to a millionaire rather billionaire according to the BBC.
I don't think anyone truly knows - eitherway, I hope it all comes to fruition!
We need something, and SOON!
Yeah.. 500million = half a billion
Therefore, he doesn't qualify as a Billionaire. But hey! ... come on.. we need an investor
Webbo...
Where did you get that figure from? If , as has been stated that he's one of Kuwait's richest families I'm sure it'd be more
I'm probably thinking too much into this but the reason the weeds are saying he couldn't afford them is because of Ken Bates share and negotiations....Bates not offering a reasonable deal and shrewd business etc rather than affordability. After all, he can get 100% of Forest, alot cheaper.
Anyway, this is all hearsay at the mo' but I'm still getting a 'semi'
I've read it but can't find it. His share of his families fortune which I've not read, is supposed to be 500M
Plus he owns the Jet garage in Long Eaton on the way to Draycott
Robin Chipperfield just tweeted saying that Seymour Pierce have denied any contact with the Kuwaiti over buying Forest?? Not sure who or how he got his source as I thought SP were keeping a veil of silence, maybe trying to contain the euphoria which has gotten a little out of hand!!! Nothing is done until its done!!
Do not get too excited as this rory says he has not got the financial clout.

Webo. This kuwait guy has never had any contact with leeds but doubt he has even 500 mill if the people in middle east say he not got the money to be serious contender to buy leeds but the Americans who were shown round the fantastic thorp arch training complex are fronted by a multi billionaire so not shedding a tears over this guy to be honest.
Forestlen....
Just checked chippers, can't see that comment - he can't confirm, eitherway...from what I read.
Superwhites, ever heard of spin? I think there maybe a share issue rather than affordability. Sounds like your evening post journo may have a touch of jealousy. Having said that I don't see why you lot aren't still in the running, if infact this whole thing has legs!
No News, Good News?
