Beautifully created point from Fed to hold.
Federer looks unfit, bit of a paunch going on.
Oh well, this is more like what I expected.
1st set Novak, 6-4, Novak found his range, returns so deep.
some of those returns there were just unreal. mountain to climb for feds now especially as he has never won from losing the first set vs novak
You have 2 men here who don't know when they're beaten, this is just the warm up
Federer looks unfit, bit of a paunch going on.
---------------------------
I think having an extra day since his last match helped at teh beginning. He was agressive and teh more aggressive he is, the less he has to move but that was always going to be a risky strategy.
He makes still uncharacteristic timing errors and that is consequence of his poor moving.
Super point from Fed and you know what? Grunting not required!
I don't know, Djokovic was brilliant in 2011, he is very good under pressure, but how on Earth did he outlast Nadal of all people in AO2012, when he had a 5 set epic versus Murray and his match was one day after Nadal beat Fed in 4 sets.
Nadal in AO2009 and Djokovic in AO2012 showed levels of stamina that I just don't think are humanly possible.
Fed breaks, need 2 back it up with his serve now.
Did you notice how that long rally hurt Djoko physically?
We did not see that in 2011
About Fed: he's clearly playing with painkillers. Probably a cortisone injection in his lower back. He was serving consistently serving 200 k/ph serves from game 1. In his match he averaged 180. That's a big difference.
Halle, we have a problem
He makes still uncharacteristic timing errors and that is consequence of his poor moving.
------------------
I just do not see it. Neither the poor moving nor "uncharacteristic" errors - he always makes fair many errors, and I do not see any unusual ones.
In his previous match 180 i meant..
OUAH!!! Djoko looks dizzy. Real bad sign if he wants to win this let alone on Sunday!
Fed has by far the most beautiful tennis I've ever watched. Its like listening to a magical enchantment music.
The percentage tennis is the like a cheap McD burger.

I'm with you on this summerblues.
Even listening to this is nice.
Odd. Loses one from 40-0, the other one from 30-0. I will not complain though.
Agree rotla, Fed's tennis has been mostly beautiful today. That is why I am glad I am watching it - even if he loses in the end.
raiders, nothing wrong with maccy dees!
Double break, djokovic looks like he been knockout.
Yep GP I have to admit that Djoko doesn't seem to be nearly as fit as last year.
ANd I agree with you that it might be more the back than a groin injury. Which is really annoying as that can really compromise the rest of his season.
seem like he found his bounce back in his legs, it hotting up.

Nothing unusual in seeing lose his serve twice to love?
