But the Snodgrass situation is the same and we know he's been offered a good contract and the manager has stated how much he wants him to stay.

It may not be enough in the end, but there's signs of a strong effort to keep him.

Can you say the same about Howson?

He should have been tied down before the Championship season gave him a higher profile.

And can you say Grayson ever rated him when he dropped him for the most important game in the club's history?

Snoddy was on the bench for that Bristol Rovers game as well.

Regarding Howson, if the contract was offered in September (i believe it was), possibly not the best timing considering we'd just sold Gradel and our squad looked a long way off realistically challenging for promotion.

Warnock has stated how he intends to build the team around Snoddy, although not sure if it was to state he would be the highest paid player (even though he clearly deserves to be). Has that statement had a negative effect on McCormack and Clayton signing?

It shouldn't do because he does deserve to be paid more than them.

Was he really left on the bench, too?

I'd forgotten about that, Grayson is even worse than I thought.

How on earth can you defend him?

I've just checked, you're right.

I probably did notice at the time but forgot all about it in the emotion of the day.

Unless Snoddy was carrying a knock? I can't remember.

Yeah, potentially he wasn't fully fit, but that's one thing he used to favour just playing one winger in a 442 (probably to make us more compact). He used to love playing Johnson at LM, possibly a reason why he signed Pugh also after the departure of Gradel.

But then as Eddie Gray always says, if you're fit enough to be on the bench, you're fit enough to play, and surely it's worth a gamble in a game of that magnitude.

In a funny way the sending off and going a goal down probably helped us as it forced Grayson to go for it.

Remember when he always used to start with Hughesy at left back then sub him and drop Johnson back?

And don't forget centre halves at full back.

He's the most negative manager in football.

Be very careful trying to spread any form of positivity Clive bcuz folk just don't like it. Good article in the main although, just a pity that it has degenerated into the SG farce again.

For what it is worth Clive i don't rate SG either & firmly believe he left us in a mess & should have been binned long before.

However, thankfully he is now history & that is where he should be left.

Core blimey, I hope nobody's reading these boards that have just had major surgery, it could be life threatening!..

Being a Leeds fan should have a Government health warning stating that there are plenty of beds in the padded wards for those that cant sleep well!..

Priceless Best post on here for months, and I should know I've read a few...!

Would you ask for supporting evidence if someone said Messi was a better player than Paynter?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well..er.. I would hope for more evidence than just stating "Because he is."

The evidence in this article seems at present to put Grayson ahead until you prove otherwise. Again I now fully support Neil Warnock as he is now our manager as I did Grayson until he was fired.

Better still let the man go, I have. Though I haven't yet got over Don Revie leaving for England

Benny, I hope you can see it was never my intention for it to turn into a Grayson debate.

I knew I should have avoided calling him a poor manager even though it's the truth, but even if I'd have just said Warnock was better it would still have happened, and it's a point that needed to be made.

Clive, I understand where you are coming from, but calling him the most negative manager in football is ridiculous.

I give you Alex McLeish.

1.Larry got us promotion,
2. Finished 7th
3. Lost his job when in 10th place in the Championship, just three points off the play-offs.
4. Replaced by a manager who led his team to the worst home result in our history, & finnished in 16th now they are FACTS.....like it or lumpit
