And he'll be back first game of the season to haunt us.
That was another of my thoughts actually Igor, it's almost guaranteed to happen.
Good luck to him
Clearly unwanted here but with no little talent; I'm glad he's landed at a proper club like Wednesday and hope his career gets back on track despite his suicidal tendency to control the ball with the wrong part of his boot, or something.
Would LOVE for one fee, one time, for one player, to be disclosed for once.
Undisclosed fee!!! Shame when the manager won't disclose the fee paid for Maguire by Sheffield Wednesday....no doubt sold at a loss to get rid of the player..well done Nigel.
Could it be Shackell next to go.!!!
Shackell will be next, replacing Mills at Fester.
A player I'd be desperate to keep, but when you hear "We don't HAVE to sell him, but we would" from board and manager, is it any surprise if he goes..? And to think of the "Where's the loyalty?" posts about El Greenio!!
You will not see any because if our sh---ty owners had given him a decent contract he would still be here.
I really, really, do hope Derby put a clause in to prevent him playing the first game of the season against us. Otherwise the writing is on the wall.
Maguire - Hatrick.
Should we have sold Shackell by then it's even more likely to happen.
Anybody in a position to find out if a clause was agreed?
Why all the doom and gloom about losing a player who hardly kicked a ball for us last season. I would hope that this sale is used to help finance the Jacobs transfer.
What is the problem of Maguire or ant ex player playing against us. How many goals did Varney and Pearson score against us last season (a clue, think of Tyson's goal scoring record).
More concerned if we lose Shackell.
Welcome to Example.
Are you a Derby fan or a wind up merchant?
Definitely some sort of wind up merchant!

Why do you think that Clough should reveal the fee if it's not club policy to do so? Why do you even think that Clough was directly involved in the negotiation?
Oh wait, it's raining. That's Clough's fault too.
I can't get my grass cut with all this rain, cheers for nothing nigel
Old One-Eye .....So what you are saying is that Nigel Clough did not want to get rid of Chris Maguire then!!!
Yes its raining!!!.... or is the parachute still not working for you yet.
Look on the bright side lads, at least one thing, GSE will be happy with all the big earners gone, there's just the last few to go!!
Remind me what happened to Coventry?
TSAR, what Eddie is saying is that what we got for McGuire and whether we disclose it has nothing to do with Clough so why blame him? You can blame him for buying a dud, and no doubt he wanted him out but not for the fee or press release.
there seems to be a lot of presuming going on based on no evidence whatsoever....
one reason why there is a trend towards not disclosing fees is its not just "we will give you £x for that player. transfer fees are a lot more structured nowadays with sell on clauses and appearances. when a player is sold a club doesnt always know exactly how much they are going to get.... and thats not just gse or nigel btw.
interesting interview given by maguire on radio derby last night , being forced to train with kids having asked a question . (interview on iplayer)
I am also told Steve Davies leaving because of how club treated his best mate Paul Green .
Davies could also join leeds.
I saw more of Maguire in my local pub than i did on the pitch...and thats true by the way!! S.Davies wants to leave because of Paul Green's treatment ..Is this Jackanory or what? The real reason is already out..the truth is out there
Awful lot of conjecture here and don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.
Maguire obviously didn't do the job Clough wanted him to. Neither did Varney or Martin. To transfer someone quickly after actively persuing them is an admission of failure so not done lightly. Nigel appears to be a great believer in the Stalin motto, get rid of the man get rid of the problem although his solution is less drastic.
Green thought he could receive a better deal elsewhere. This is Green's last big payday before his value diminishes so best of luck to him.
Davies's personal problems have been highlighted but I think it's more a case that he thinks he can find a better deal. If he remained fit his goals per game make him a 20 goal a season striker. Always valuable in this division.
Considering the amount of money we have paid to Green and Davies while they sat on their backsides it is a tad disloyal but that's the football business.
"Awful lot of conjecture here.... so here's four more paragraphs of unsubstantiated conjecture from me, with words like 'obviously' and 'I think' thrown in."
Do as I say, not as I do, hey Sparts?
The point I am trying to make is that Derby County continue to sell players for less than they paid for them... where is the sense in that!!!
If ever there was a player who might feel he has a point to prove, it has to be Maguire when he makes his debut for Sheff Weds against Derby.
Papers are probably already writing the headlines.
On the point of 'undisclosed fee', I think it is totally unacceptable that a Club won't tell it's supporters how much it has received for a player who cost nearly half a million less than 12 months ago. Can you imagine if you returned your tax forms and put 'undisclosed' in the income catagory.
