does anyone actually think chris maguire is totally innocent and without fault in all this (as he would have you believe)?
Wassa...yeah i expect a striker in. Maguire going doesnt concern me because we have better at the club..Davies if he goes may leave a hole but its the quality of the striker we get in that im more concerned about. A Quality signing will make the difference...with Robinson,Ball,Tyson,Ward,Bennett as options.
Kern,
Not for one minute mate!
Backo,
Maguire had a lot more know how about him than Bennett, Ball is another teenager Tyson & Ward are more effective from wide than straight down the middle, well Ward is.............
Maguire going makes sod all difference to the squad as he hardly played last season.
We needed a striker and IF Steve Davies leaves we need two, though will probably just sign one on the basis that Robinson, Ball, Tyson, Bennett and Ward can all play there (to varying degrees of success).
Why all the whinging about an unproven Scottish kid who clearly didn't do what the manager expected from a Derby County professional and had one reasonable performance, one decent subs appearance and one truly shocking performance of any note out of 46 games?
Two unproven Scottish players bought for a combined £800k, one sold for £250k and one remaining who is now worth considerably more than £550k. The manager's in credit on this one i'm afraid chaps...
Kern... his interview showed he isn't the kind of individual that we should WANT representing our club anyway. Did Luke Varney whinge and make excuses when he left? No.
What's wrong with saying "I'm disappointed things didn't work out with Derby, but am looking forward to proving I can be a success in the top two divisions with Sheffield Wednesday" and leaving it at that.
Poor player, poor attitude... EXIT stage left... next...
Why is he been judged on the three games he played for Derby, yeah he didn't pull up any trees, my opinion comes from his stint at pompey and that was positive with a run of games.
How many times did you see him play for Pompey IgOR?

"Now he's a failure at this level - for this club at least."
His goals-per-minutes-played ratio would stand comparison with most in this league and I'm including his 3 in 11 for Pompey there too.. on that spell alone, which some on here have dismissed as paltry, he'd have been in line for 12 or 13 over the season.
How did our highest scorers get on last year...?
---
By the same token, do you not want to extrapolate Theo and Davies' records over 46 games too?
Clue: Davies comes to around 22 and Theo comes to around 74 (ish).

What have I said wrong now?
Tyson got 0, where did I say I rate Tyson?
It's called debate IgOR... I know you struggle with it but you said "my opinion comes from his stint at pompey ", remember?
I'll help you out:-
Aberdeen Played 131 Scored 16
Kilmarnock Played 14 Scored 4
Derby Played 7 Scored 1
Portsmouth Played 11 Scored 3
Club Career: Played 163 Scored 24
1 goal in 7 games
3 goals per year
How ever will we cope...
And why would I need to see pompey play to make my mind up marco, the stat speaks for itself, so asking me a stupid question hardly leaves it open to debate marco.
Played 7
Great man management there our nige.

What about this bit?
Listen Marco, im not gonna fall out with ya over a player on someone else's books.
Its not like I have not raised this topic when he was a Derby player, and fought my corner, for the simple reason that all this talk of attitude didn't wash with me, and was fed up with fans making up their minds that he was useless without him getting a proper run, nothing more.
I move on.
OK pal, time will tell I guess.
You seem to take offence to my opinions that's all!
Have a good evening and I'll see you over then next 'controversial' move no doubt
And there was me thinking it was the other way around, come here

we signed two strikers last summer , one has been shown the door the other could not hit a barn door.
Lets hope the two we desperately need this summer have more impact, would be nice to have a genuine class striker , but funds and ambition will no doubt dictate.

TSAR don't worry mate, Eddie thinks everyone is thick on this forum apart from himself. At least he can't call you a hypocrite though can he mate
MILF...
You need to interpret my comment in the context it was made... i.e. Why it is unsurprising Maguire was sold at a loss.
Any potential purchaser's negotiating position will be Maguire was a failure at Derby, hence the fee should be less than Derby paid.
If Derby try to make an argument based on goals per game ratio then the other party will just say "oh yeah, if his goals per game is so good, why didn't you give him more games"
There's just no answer to that question that supports selling him on at a price higher than we paid.
