Obviously there are finacial benefits. But lets get down to the serious side. What colour would the seats be? Would both club crests be on the stands?
Who benefits from the tour of the trophy room?
Simple fact of the matter is Everton couldn't fill a 60,000 seater stadium and that's that. You lot can come back with "it would be full of Scandinavians on the red days but that's the thing. It would be full, Everton don't fill they're ground now.

I think it could be a good idea, it might go some way to healing the deepening divide that seems to have come between the fans over the last 20 years, and it certainly makes sense from a financial standpoint, however...
I just don't trust the blurts that make up the supporters of both clubs to ever let it work. There's a lot of people who make up the regular matchday attendance for both teams that don't have any pride in their city, I could imagine the stadium getting trashed because they know they won't be the next set of fans to use it.
The hardcore support of both teams would be so opposed to the idea that I don't think it could ever happen.

If you don't think Everton have enough trophies to display an impressive collection, you don't know your history
Face facts. its the only way either set of owners will give the fans a new ground
I agree with Didi.
A shared sense of pride in the city's teams and what they have achieved has long since evaporated.
Yes we have banter, but there is a rift between the clubs that never used to exist.
I really can't see an issue with a shared ground, it then gives the city a large capacity venue for other events like concerts and international matches (if the FA ever actually pay for Wembley...)

However I do feel that there would be a loss of identity.

True, but I suppose the idea would be to recreate the identity that used to exist. One city, rather than two teams.
It troubles me that Everton fans seem to identify more with Utd fans these days than from another club within their own city. Traditionally we had the friendly banter with Everton and we both had the proper rivalry with Manchester, as scousers. Now it seems to have reversed itself.
That's not a dig at Everton, I can completely see why it's happened, I just wish it hadn't.

I feel this has all started since the Heysel accident, for right or wrong, plus also made worse by the keyboard warrior's.
maybe a shared stadium can help unite the clubs and fans once again
A shared stadium could work.
With clever design, lighting, signage etc, a stadium that suited the needs of both clubs could be built imo.
However, the bigots amongst both clubs fanbases, will never allow this issue to make it to the level of detailed discussion, which is a great shame imo.

Agreed, 25 years down the line it's whether the new generation can try and leave the past the past or whether they just carry on their parents prejudices.
Unfortunately I'm a cynic, so I just can't see people stopping being moronic for long enough to let that happen.
The people making the biggest fuss will be the ones thinking they speak for the entire fanbase when they only truly represent the minority. Unfortunately people always seem to listen to he who shouts loudest.

Still. its proven way for each to increase revenue without major risk. Unlike the football quarter!
Oooh, your like a kitten with a ball of wool.
You wont let go
Fellaini, do you think it will increase revenue without major risk? unlike the football quarter?
Do we have examples of other FQ's providing enough revenue?
Plenty of examples of grounds providing extra revenue
The bonus of a shared stadium in Liverpool is the fact the the ground where it would most likely be built is literally next door to both existing grounds.
This should take care of the issues of 'local businessmen' objecting on the ground's location impacting their livelihood.
Added to that is the massively lessened impact on walk up business on match days. (Sorry, forgot that won't be an issue for LFC as they play to full houses every week and have a 25 year waiting list for ST's....:P)
Didi - surprisingly, the former mate
TB - Sorry, had to check, my paranoia gland was in overdrive
Can't.build the ground in the park....where will the FQ be moved to!
