Takes long enough getting round to taking the actual free kick. If he doesn't score then that's a good 3 minutes wasted.
the ones that go in are usually so spectacular and brilliant that you forget about the others
Think I read a statistic that only 2% of his free-kicks actually go in. That's a poor record, I'd fancy myself to do better than that.
He should have perfected his technique and accuracy by now... Going for power everytime
It was the same with Roberto Carlos.
He was always touted as a freekick expert but he actually scored very few compared to the amount he took.
I suppose it was because the ones that he did put away (like Ronaldo) were so spectactuar they were always remembered.
i think ronaldo is better at them than r. carlos, ronnie is still a top free kick taker, but maybe for portugal especially, should let others have a go like veloso who has a wand of a left foot
Ronaldo's free kicks are so overrated. It's not even the conversion rate that's poor. I could allow for a poor conversion rate if he was regularly hitting the target or was marginally missing the target, but he hits the wall and skies it so often.
Think he spends more time perfecting his stance and the run up than the actual free kick.

and no i didnt research all of them before you ask im not that sad
I can understand him using that ridiculous technique he does when shooting from so far out, but he rarely tries to adjust it and use placement when on the edge of the box.
I once had an argument with sweet little pea on here about how Ronaldo is not accurate at free kicks, he used the stats about how many he scored to justify him being very good. Glad I'm not te only one who doesn't think he's good at free kicks.
He cant really vary it unless he changes his run up
thats not my list either its off youtube so all the stupid comments and smileys wernt added by me
Could still hit it with the inside of his foot, or put in under the ball when they jump with power
"put in under the ball "
wall
putting it under the ball would be physically impossible

A pretty comprehensive list there, but I'm sure he scored a few more during 07/08 season, no?
Personally I felt he was more clinical before, but the stats suggest otherwise. I do feel he doesn't get it on target enough though, too often skies it or hits the wall. Pity as he has the potential to do much better.
Also, loved the one he took against Arsenal where Tyldesley said, "Too far for even Ronaldo to think about it".
Hmm but running up like he does.. I dont think he could hit it with the inside of his foot and be accurate. I dont know.
Id say he needs to shorten his run up if he wants to hit it with the inside.
mr chelsea watch the free-kick vs sunderland from 07-08 its wonderful
I imagine Ronaldo's conversion rate has gone down since he went to Madrid. He takes so many that even though he's scored more he's probably converting less.
At United he would let others had a go. At Madrid he rarely does.
probably right, i even remember gabriel heinze taking a few
Mexican Rave WIll check it out
His freekick against Portsmouth was good.
nothing wrong with a left back taking them
